Hi everyone,

I'm currently using the demo to whip up some preset sounds, however am regularely coming across the problem that the delay effects unit is acting weird at times. I.e. when I play with the delay turned on, most of the time it sounds as expected, but then all of a sudden, the delay chokes, and doesn't produce delay as its supposed to (not outputting delays where it should), and in these case, a few seconds later i hear the delay which shouldve been heard these few seconds earlier (e.g. i play 2 hooks, after the 2nd hook i suddenly hear the first hook's delay, and the delay is set to 16ths, and usually audible right after playing the "source" note if you will.

Also, sometimes during playback and tweaking alongside, the plugin sortof "hangs", it outputs a weird noise on just the right channel. Turning off the plugin gets rid of the noise, but I can't use that plugin instance anymore (it wont output anything but that noise, turning it off-on again won't fix it). The only way to make the plugin work again in that vsti slot, is to remove it from the slot, and then re-add Ca5000 again. A bit tedious to be honest Razz

Could someone please tell me if theres a newer demo version around which fixes these things?

thanks a lot

Hi xRAVENx,

Thanks for your post.

The latest version of the demo available is on the website. If you downloaded it within the last week then you have the latest. If you got it off the Computer Music cover CD, or downloaded it before that, then please download the latest version from the website.

If you are using the latest version, I am extremely sorry for the inconvenience, and I will private message you to get more precise details of your setup and how these things can be repeated, and will make every effort to have them fixed in the next update.

In general, to receive the fastest response its best to email bug reports to support<at>camelaudio<dot>com. Please note that regardless of whether you're using the demo version, or you've brought the full version, I'd very much like to hear about any problems, or suggestions that users have.

Thanks
Ben

This sounds like your system can't keep up and Cameleon is overloading the computer. What CPU,RAM and audio card are you using?

As for SX2, I've seen users at cubase.net complain that it's slower than SX1.

Actually, it turns out that the first of the two problems is not actually a bug - but in fact just the one sec silence every 30 sec demo restriction. The second issue concerning hung notes, I am looking into. If anyone else has experienced a similar problem, please drop me an email at support<at>camelaudio<dot>com. It would particularly useful if you could say how to repeat the problem.

Thanks

LOL!!! Laughing

You know, that never occurred to me about the demo silence. I had the demo for a very short time before I bought CA5000.
Guess the solution is to buy Cameleon, right Ben? Wink

Seams to me something is stuck in your system...

Never had those problems here.

Markus, do you start with a clean project in Cubase SX?

I had a similar (actualy some clicking) problem with CA5000 demo and SX because I automaticly loaded a limiter (as Master Effect dithering to 16 bit) in my default project. It loaded fine in a clean project.

Ben,

I just bought Chameleon last night and must admit that in my random poking I did get a couple of times when a note seemed to get stuck (Nuendo 2 as a host). At the time I put it down to my inexperience with the GUI. I'll try over the weekend to see if I can find any reproducable senario.

cheers
