Hi,
I'm about to commision some sound designers to develop more presets for Cameleon. Here's your chance to get more presets of the kind you like! Just tell me which are your favourite presets (either in the full or demo versions), and I will bare that in mind when getting the new presets developed. Also, if you have any other feedback on the presets, here's the place to post your thoughts - please try and make any comments constructive. So, which are your favourite presets? Thanks Ben Last edited by Ben [Camel Audio] on Tue Dec 02, 2003 2:12 pm; edited 2 times in total |

I will post my 5 favourites later on, there's so much to choose from! Any news where we can upload soundbanks and what size they should be? Peter. |

Hi pschelfh,
I haven't yet set up soundbank upload. In the meantime, please email banks to me at ben<at>camelaudio<dot>com, and I will put them up on the website. They should be zipped, and ideally placed in appropriately named directories. They can be anything up to 15MB. If they're larger than that, please email me for FTP instructions. Thanks Ben |

Soundspectral - thanks very much for the list - quite a few there I just got an email from El Baggio, and I thought I'd post it here, as this is where I'm trying to collect thoughts together - also preset designers can read this and be influenced by it. I think he makes a number of good points. Quote: In terms of what presets, I would like to see added to Cameleon are more harder and dirtier sounds. I think the bass area can be expanded upon - this is an area in which Cameleon is getting a lot of praise at the moment. Also, guitar type sounds are very good - especially more experimental stuff like frippertronic which is definately one of my favourites. I think some of the synth leads sounds could be made a bit more agressive. The pads are well covered. Also, the piano, strings, organs and voices are well covered although you can never have enough. The ryhthmics presets could be a lot better (my least favourite at the moment) and more mod morph presets would be nice.
Thanks Ben |

It seems he wants more of everything, but especially if "everything" includes a good quantity of aggressive, perhaps experimental, types of sounds. Did I understand him correctly? I'll see what I can come up with. (wanders off to secret laboratory...) later, McLilith |

Thanks Ben Below are my current favorite presets. Subject to change at a moments notice. Even those presets not chosen have their uses. Some may not be preferred on their own, but work nicely combined with others for morphing purposes, for example. Other patches weren't chosen because I have another synth that does the sound better, such as Lounge Lizard for Rhodes piano. ****************************************** Basses: Acoustic Bass, FemmeBot, Fender Bass, Finger Bass Brass-Winds: Bamboo, Brass Ensemble, French Horn Chromatics: Celesta, Dark Wood Guitars: AcousticSteelString, BS Flyd Gtr, Dark Chorus, Frippertronics, Harmonic DisTort Guitar Leads-Hard: Echoes, Morphalead, TonyBanks Leads-Soft: KlauseShultzLead Mod Morphs: French Horn Hybrids Organs: Angel Organ, Full Pipes Pads-Ambient: Milky Way, Nazgul, Troubled Spirits Pads-Main: High Elven, HrnViolTrmpt, Oberbrass, Unrestricted Pads-Sweeps: Morpheology, Random Acts Pianos: Ballard, Electric Grand, Sky Piano, Wurlie PD Strings: Fiddle, Nebula Strings, Warm Strings Synths-FM: FM Cello, FM Oberheim, Toto Voices: Cantar, LushOohs |

I haven't messed around with the demo as much as I would have liked yet, but if you could get Doc T or Likwid to do some sounds, that would really show off some potential... |
