what possessed him to add png support for just the volume knob? Just proof of concept for later skinning abilities? Just seems like it would be last on my list of things to do for XT. |

my bad.:D And perhaps it's because usually they aren't paying you to do music work? :P Better than wasting time on Facebook at work, like many people do now, though, I guess. |

Ooops, sorry that I expressed myself so badly.
In the 'Coming next' for the actual beta it says: * Freeze will now bypass VST instruments also when song is stopped. This what I don't get! I can only freeze, if a song is stopped. If I freeze when it's stopped, audio is recorded for that track and the assigned VST instrument will not do any audio processing anymore during playback as long as this track is frozen. Right? What was the bug, how did it show? You said this bug was a PITA. OK, I see now. It is not anymore possible to trigger sounds for a VST instrument assigned to a frozen track, if the song is stopped. Is this an advantage? What is so bad about the old behaviour? Is this freeze thing not only supposed to save CPU, because it costs less to just playback audio than to calculate an audio output in realtime? If a song is stopped, then there is not much CPU needed, why is it a problem to process the VST instrument in such a case? Please help me, I don't get it! |

i have edits that used to hit 100% CPU when i pressed stop with the old way (almost locking up the hole system) now it a tidy 10% when stopped

Aha, I understand.
I always thought that VST's only would need more CPU if they actually calculate some sound but only a little, if they are 'idle'. I guess I was wrong then. Out of curiosity: Is this behavior necessary/correct (I mean in terms of VST specification) or are those only some buggy VST's? |

Still need to close your project and quit the program just to check for a new version? It's easier to just open my friggin' browser because I can keep working on my music. |
