That sound is so easy, im suprised so many people dont know how to do it.

Its just a few detuned saws with fast decaying envelope, and a chord with lots of notes.

And Sylenth is your friend:

soul_junkie and all the others if you're annoyed with people posting threads about any given topic don't answer to them. This is a forum where real people answer to other real people. It's the unique selling point of forums over a search engine.

Nothing personal. I understand your behaviour is pretty widespread.
It's even part of the rules in some forums. I tend to avoid places like that (might as well check Google!).

I had a Nord Lead 3 once... they don't sound like the 2 or 2X (thanks to super-high quality converters) which means no-one wanted them and they were discontinued early. Most softsynths can get within a stones throw these days though.

I'm not starting, entering into, or trying to finish any internet argument here, but since you did mention me by name, I thought I might invoke my right of reply, and briefly touch on a few points.

I'm a little perplexed as to how you can make such a blanket statement as I'm not being kind (and thus not being helpful). Apart from the fact the "you're so kind" comment may have been sarcastic (which you seemed to have missed), I'm at a loss to know what you're really expecting of me (or anyone) here.
I provided what I thought to be the best resource for the sound, the search function, because, as we all know, it has been covered numerous times, and I felt that the OP would gain far more information, and save a few people some time, by having a dig around. When I was told that he couldn't find it, I then provided links to all the threads he should be reading. Upon being told again that it wasn't there, I bowed out. Not kind? Not Helpful?

It seems to me that you're problem lies in the TONE of my post, not the content. But this is where you lose me. I wasn't aware that my moods, my temperament, or my states of mind at time of posting where on trial here.

Maybe I didn't present the information in a beautiful, cherry landed gush. Maybe I was a little gruff. But maybe I had just broken up with my girlfriend, maybe my cat had just died, or maybe I was just a little annoyed with being told something Isn't, when it is. So maybe my tone was just a real human emotion....

Last time I checked, we weren't running a 5 star restaurant. Service with a smile is not a prerequisite for posting, but supplying (correct) information is the overall point.
To state as fact, a lie based on personal opinion, that insults both my character as a person and you're own intelligence, is a little disheartening to me, and I take it on board with a certain level of offence.

Please, in future, if you wish to make broad sweeping statements that attack a persons character, at least step back, assess all the facts, and not let rushed bias cloud your point.

That's all I wanted to say.
If you reply, I won't, so you can have the last word if you so wish.

Thank You.

That's extremely close Adam!

I'm pretty sure Joel used Amber / Strobe.

Kindly show me where. I've never seen Joel give any patches away, I have however seen and heard him say on numerous occasions that he uses Synth Squad.

Jeez, I can't believe some people here. The OP posts a perfectly civil and specific request for help and gets crap. As a noob myself, I feel for the guy!

All of us ask advice when we start out; please allow the OP the same courtesy, even if your musical tastes are different. As someone said earlier, no-one is forcing you to read or respond to these threads.

The reason why there are many Deadmau5 threads is because he is a hugely successful producer. Just deal with it. We all have to start somewhere. In any art, one of the best ways to learn is to imitate someone you admire and then play around.

Regarding instruments, Deadmau5 has made no secret of what he uses. In a Future Music interview just after the release of RAT, he said he was using pretty much everything from FXpansion, including Synth Squad, a SH-101, Moog stuff, an MFB synth, Minimonsta, Oddity, Massive a little, and Reaktor. He also has a Juno 106, but apparently doesn't use it much. No mention of a Nord at that time. Hope this helps.

my final note on this - i'm more than surprised with the agressive tone of some contributors to this thread, but it is good to see some reasonable and balanced contributions.

I will not be submitting any further posts on this thread - i dont need the grief

To me it seemed like he was making a genuine effort to be friendly when everything had turned out well after going through a page or so of sometimes abrasive criticism and ridicule for posting a question.

Exactly! Your links further on seemed helpful enough. Why didn't you post them to begin with or stay out?

Ah, but this is where I beg to differ. Because in the 5 star restaurant called Friendly Forum, we're all guests and waiters. And that first post was most definitely not kind. If you took it for an assesment of your personality you're mistaken and I apologise.
