Duy tape is absolutely horrible, I tried the demo a couple of years back, it sounds very very bad in my opinion. I never understood the DUY charm .. Maybe as a special effect you can find some uses for it to grunge things (bit like a lo-fi effect) up but it doesn't sound like tape at all. Yeah, the cpu-hit is small though.

duy max is horrible. the other plugins, valve, shape and tape are ok imo. Nevr said it sounded like tape, just said it was useful.

as far as this wavearts one, it's very nice, but i disagree that the cpu hit isn't important, cause this is an effect that you would want to use a few instances of... for me the cpu makes it a no go.

What kind of source audio are you guys using this on?

Korg too... Also in their Vox stuff. The first time I saw this though was in a Digitech 2112 guitar processor.

Are you guys really complaining about the CPU use? I don't get it. If it's too high, don't buy it. If you like it, come check it out again in a few years, if not, forget it.

It's made with a specific unique purpose, who am I to tell the developers what they should be doing? There are a myriad of saturation plugs that don't actually fully emulate circuits, and use very little cpu. Whether it's useful to me or not, I appluad that someone is doing something different. Once I'm done with electrical engineering school, my plan was to create plugins exactly like this,full emulations. I'm happy that someone is starting early, and I am interested to see where this kind of thing takes the industry.

Btw. I vaguely remember in one of the threads about Cytomic Glue or D-Cam Synth Squad that Andy (developer of those) mentioned also SPICE and finding a way to emulate circuits in real-time ..

i have a old computer (cpu 2.4) but i don t mind the cpu usage , it s all about the sound ,if we had more plugins like this i would just buy a other computer and use it like i use hardware.

This is in my opinion the best "tube saturator" plugin I've used, yet.
Before, I constantly used the "antares tube" plugin.
But after trying the new wave arts plugin,
I immediatly kicked the antares one into the trash.



This Wave Arts version is definatly worth every dollar and cent.

CPU usage doesn't matter > because this really is a high class algorithm.



Thousands of plugins out there, but only a few good ones. This is one of them. Go and get it...

just to be pathetically nitpicking, Andy uses qucs i belive (a free software like SPICE). if memory serves me right, Nick Crow mentioned SPICE as a tool he uses designing his software. when i'm in an enquiring mood i may compare this with TubeDriver...

ReValver 2 IIRC models circuits and SPICE was certainly used extensively in the building of it.

How about an introductory offer for this plug in? I know, it's cheep to ask, and greedy etc. pp.

However, it would certainly push initial sales, and people would at least be tempted to try that new technology as an introduction to the concept of fully modelled plug ins. If you say that you are aware it won't be a best-seller, why not use it as a kind of 'door opener' at a competitive price point (like 99 bucks)?

I agree with You - it's really good. For this moment i'm using redoptor and it does the tube job as well - way better than antares. Maybe after some deeper investigation i'll move to wavearts too?

Can't wait to try this. There's been a gaping saturation-plug-shaped hole in my life for too long.

I'm really interested how this compares to the relatively new URS Saturation plug, and the UAD stuff.
