I'm glad you like the sounds and IDM demo.

Wish I could take credit for writing the IDM one...

that's one is done by Alex from Kill Memory Crash.

I did about 4 of them, but he's made a nice
little impact with his crazy fills. That's his style.

That IDM is 100% DMD sounds though.

the sounds may be nice, but i personally also find all the hard-marketing drivel rather irritating. just makes me switch off. none of my business of course tho...

I mean, I've purchased many libraries in the past & end up using most of the sounds, & even those I didn't used I don't feel they are bad, I think they'll fit the bill for future productions... so my answer to the question would be "no!".

I've downloaded the demo pack a couple of weeks ago without knowing about the site & all the hype. I quickly auditionned the samples & for me that was just very conventional, nothing outstanding, I just deleted them, that's it.

So guess they are for other people but not for me...

100 percent.

but i aint in to knocking this product really, i wish the OP well. I just think that all the hyperbole sets this up to be knocked down, whereas just letting the product do the talking would probably irritate/alient/antagonise less potential customers.

Thanks SampleScience and Monkeyweasle. I appreciate your feedback and view, 100%. The world's a large enough place for everyone's view. You may have had some good experiences with drum samples. I've also had some good experiences... but many, many more have not been. I'm not going to name libraries I've had problems with, because I don't want to knock anyone's passion. It's a least noble that they are stepping up and doing what they feel is needed.

Here are libraries that I've purchased that are GOOD and can recommend:
Wave Alchemy
GoldBaby
Sonic Specialists

I feel what I'm presenting is on that level (as do others) There are a few things I've done differently, but that is a matter of taste and not god's authority. I haven't normalized or processed the sounds using additional creative effects. I've arranged the sounds by texture rather than machine.

I've also mapped the sounds to EXS24 and Kontakt and provided a 16bit dithered version for hardware users. Plus, I use a combination of Tubes, Transformers, and the ATS-1 in a sound design manner for EACH sound.. choosing the best combo to hype the harmonics.

No message communicates 100%. There are different ways of presenting something... I chose the way I like. I'd rather alienate 20%, if the people this library is intended for respond 100X better. Judging by the personal feedback I've received, I'm succeeding in reaching those people.

Oh yeah, the library is moving @ a pretty nice rate. All I've done is place 2 links in forums. FXPansion sent out a newsletter with the library. NO Press Releases yet... no reviews. I'd say it's flying : )

EXACTLY! That is what I did. It cost me $28k+ for the gear, another 6 months in living expenses, and a minimum of 10 minutes a SOUND. I didn't even intend on selling the library when I started sampling and buying. It wasn't until later when some friends started asking for the sounds when at my house. The fact that someone can grab these now for 1/300th (not including time or additional expenses) is amazing.

I know these sounds are unique because I went through the recording process. I've A/B'd the dry source against the Tubes, Trannies, Tape... there is an additional warmth, air, and punchy drive. I know there is an anti-marketing stance in the music community. I'm NOT a marketer, I'm a musician/producer. I wrote down my frustrations over 16 years of producing records. My dreams and desires. I think about winning the lottery and buying gear every week, AT LEAST. I'm extremely critical of my own productions when they are completed...

In my message, I said I'll ask you some questions. Then I said, if you said "yes". You guys said no... cool, this isn't for you. Those questions are an intentional filter, because I'm offering a 30 day, no questions asked refund policy. So far, EVERYONE has been enthusiastic about their purchase.

If you two guys want, I'll just blast a big BAT SIGNAL in the sky for you next time I create something : )

kvr can be a rough place. It's like a proving ground. Everything is questioned. But it can also be a great friend, so hang in there. You're doing good. You're answering questions, and not getting defensive. Keep it up. If you don't know marketing to the musician community, you can learn it here.

P.S.

I think the FX package that's coming, complimentary, is worth the price of
admission ALONE.

Feedback has been 100% positive. Some (not me) are calling them the best reverbs
and filters in plugin format. And that's in this very forum.

The best thing is I just got a new song from Rob Acid, using entirely drums from this library. It's cool hearing the work from artists who are getting involved. Actually feels better than the records I've put out or performing live.

I'm a man dedicated to mastery. I actually spent 2 years creating 6 hours of mixes of music from the last 25 years. The whole thing was an exercise in breaking internal barriers between genres. One thing I noticed about drum machines was that the individual sounds remained consistent. What often changed was the "fashion" of processing. Some reverbs, compression, and special tricks would move in and out of style.

That's why I left these sounds dry from additional creative processing. I wanted to create a library that would last 10 years... I know artists will manipulate the sounds in ways I haven't even dreamed of.

Now that's interesting, my current sound lib. purchases don't have these problems. Thinking of it, even my collection build from free legit sample sites don't have these problems too. But I don't have many commercial libraries (around 10-12, all almost from the same company). I would be curious to know who is the faulty library/company, if you could pm me the name, that would be cool.

Still surprising as I'm producing a drum loop library right now & I easily avoided these problems (it's the least to do to avoid clipping & properly editing a commercial library).

About all the infocommercial text on the website: I would remove that because it really gave me a bad impression about your product, it's very irritating to say the least. But reading your post in this topic it really shows that it's a labour of love, so a website that would better represent that would be better me think Smile.

You would think.

Something is working on the site, because 8% of people who download the demo purchase the library.

I'm no marketer, but I've been told that's a really good ratio.

I'm really pleased that people are responding well to the sounds. I can't
wait to give them the next part of the package... which is just a
complimentary gift. The drums are worth it alone.

ahh, shit, why all the nitpicking, guys?
download the demo sounds and decide for your self, i mean, come on, 80-90 bucks??? if you can't afford it for that price, you're probably _not_ the target at all ... i don't mean any harm, but this dumping-mentality really get's on my nerves ... like it - buy it, don't like it - don't ... simple as that ... advertisement either way, go and check out for yourself, that easy ...
