Many wav clips = sound cutting in and out

I notice when I have to do lots of wav edits, resulting in lots of clips on many tracks, sound cuts out randomly as playback nears the region with lots of edits.
I can spend lots of time rendering each track to a new one. But are there other ways to deal with this? More RAM or something?
Thanks!

Spend more money on the mixing!

Haven't run into this. Did you try changing to a higher latency? This should take some heat of the cpu if that's causing the problem.
Music is something you DO. Spend time, not money.

Have you tried increasing your cache size?
Settings tab -> file settings -> cache size (try the maximum setting)

Nope. This is a built-in tracktion realtime playback problem. Simply doesn't read ahead enough, by my estimation. Upping the cache may help, but with large projects I've noticed it'll do this regardless.alantak wrote:I notice when I have to do lots of wav edits, resulting in lots of clips on many tracks, sound cuts out randomly as playback nears the region with lots of edits.

And my machine's pretty tough. SSD drive and all that.
I'll add it to the list.
