Hi,

I feel incredibly stupid, but I cant manage to set up TouchOsc at all.

I got it connected to my computer and I'm trying to set up the wife connection.

Can't find any info on this on the web.

First I have NO idea which IP Address to use and what my Hostname is.

Is this referring to the name of my computer, the name of my network, some other standard name?
Where do I find the IP address. My network setting got tons of them.

Sorry but manual network setups have always been greek to me. I just don't see the logic of these names and numbers.

Please help this dinosaur!

I typed in my hostname, but all TouchOsc can do is go into eternal search. Why cant it at least tell me what im missing?

Wow this software is a bitch to setup.
No error message or anything to help me out. Just says "search".

I tried Pure Data but there's no connection.

System Preferences - Network [edit: youd be looking for the IP address with your Airport or Wireless router selected)

That will give you your IP address. Next you need something on the computer to receive the OSC messages - I use OSCulator. In both the TouchOSC (on your iPhone etc) and OSCulator (on your computer), the Port (Outgoing) and Port (Incoming) need to be set the same so they can see each other - eg:

Host - fridtjof.mac (or 192.65.77.255)
Port (outgoing) - 8000
Port (incoming) - 9000
