------------------------------------------ 1> A loop option would be invaluable for triggering loops using poise as a trigger pad instead of a drum machine (see below for more thoughts on this). Loop modes to include would be something like 'forwards', 'backwards' and 'bounce' (forwards then backwards) 2> Running on the theme, tempo synching the loops would be useful. 3> Time stretching samples without changing the pitch and pitch shifting samples without changing the playback rate would be amazing! (Maybe elastique2 could be used for this?) ------------------------------------------ This would take poise to the next level i was thinking a standalone mode with a built in sequencer just for when you want to try out something without the daw setup, also taking a page from the digital 'beat thang' book and adding the function to record straight into poise from within poise... this would work well with the standalone idea also... i know these are big requests though. thanx |

I'm not sure what you mean exactly? - Shannon polyphony selection for each pad. This way you can have overlapping samples that are still cut off by other samples via cut groups. j79 wrote: hmmm..single cell version...interesting thought!
Yes, this would solve the many problems that you run into when tracking out your instruments or freezing them. Allows maintaining mixing control with very little hassle, but still allows layers for complicated sounds. I think I've got some pretty innovative ideas for vst's. I've worked with some developers with some of them but most people are very busy with their own projects. I have a very innovative tube overdrive/saturation type module if anyone knows of someone interested in working on something to that affect. |

poise fits the bill very completely for my uses. i prefer less additions that can be found elsewhere (sequencers, effects, etc) and instead cast my eye towards features that would complete/augment the current feature set.
for tactile, easily maneuvered, drum-machine like control, i hope to someday help test automatable cc parameter control of currently selected pad (all sample) and pad (currently selected sample). this would take out all kinds of tedious mousing (except for sample selection, which is fine and dandy). ---- electronic instrumentalism, MIDI instrument design, and words. |

If it could make tea & toast in the mornings, do a little dusting and hoovering around the place in the afternoons, and change the channels on the TV in the evenings, that would be awesome! ---- The invisible and the non-existent look very much alike. |

More FX would be great.
Oh hang on, did I already mention that? Pat |

Pat, if i could give this suggestion: instead of using Poise fx, today i used poise's multi-outputs to use the VSTs that i am happy and familiar with to effect individual pad cells. to me, this is far more useful than if Poise itself had more FX options. poise as multi out essentially blows the ceiling off the idea of native fx!
here's something i would like to see: velocity modulation of attack point. classic feature on MPCs - but a notable omission from the popular JJ os software for the mpc1000 and 2500! this is used often to create a softer, "brushed" feel to softer-hit pads. real drums don't just sound quieter when they're hit more softly, their timbre also is different. between Poise filter velocity modulation and attack modulation, you could get a pretty sophisticated multisample-esque sound out of only a couple samples or so. especially if you've linked 2 different pads which have different velocity->amp settings (1 for body, 2 for accent). ---- electronic instrumentalism, MIDI instrument design, and words. |

I've installed and been using Poise, love it...
Found a timbale set in my samples and made a round robin kit from them using Poise, made loads of Classic Drum machine kits and it's perfectly mapped for using with my Akai MPD16 now, very happy so far... only gripe is - 1. The Volume is set at default to full and it's not loud enough even at full(compared to my other VST instruments(with mixer levels at default)), can't you put the volume on half(at the same level) allowing for more volume...I had to go into my mixer to bring up the volume but push it to the max almost... Erm, that's it... MORE VOLUME! |
