Hmmm...Seems like another sample-based virtual guitar plugin, this one by Vir2.
They claim it offers seamless morphing of articulations because they are phase-aligned, and also legato.
I know they haven't released it yet, but considering they're not Samplemodeling, I wonder if their claims of seamless articulations and legato would hold up? I guess time will tell.
Maybe Electri6ity will be different to the rest of the sample-based guitars, and perhaps will sound much more realistic 'between the notes' so to speak.
But I'll still hold on to my guns and say that Mokafix Audio's physical modeling will probably still be much better than even this latest virtual guitar. I'm skeptical of seamless morphing articulation and legato with samples unless it's Samplemodeling, perhaps I'll be proven wrong and Vir2 have something up their sleeves that will surprise us. We'll see.

Hey dickiefunk,
The Electri6ity website will be online this week. Till then you'll find a thread about Electri6ity here (including some WIP demos/features/discussion):

We worked more than three years on Electri6ity. And actually the realism 'between the notes' is one thing we definitely wanted to get right! Electri6ity plays without the small gaps/fading sounds most virtual guitars introduce. And it plays without strange phasing artifacts even if you play very fast solos at 200BPM or faster.Maybe Electri6ity will be different to the rest of the sample-based guitars, and perhaps will sound much more realistic 'between the notes' so to speak.

Is there an equivalent instrument to cover the bass guitars as well?
I know there is BASiS, but I'm not sure if that's on the same level as Electri6ity in terms of seamless legato/articulation. Are you working on a new bass module?

Interesting point, I'd be intereted in a new heavy-weighted BASiS version too.benjamind wrote:Sounds promising.dynamitec wrote: We worked more than three years on Electri6ity. Maybe using this engine for BASiS v2 and Acoustic Legends HD v2 would be a great solution, then make a nice bundle of these 3 instruments and you've a winner.

I can imagine they are working on this too, perhaps that will be unveiled when the time comes. I am hoping they redo all of the bass and acoustic instruments for their new generation of products.K-Slash wrote:Interesting point, I'd be intereted in a new heavy-weighted BASiS version too.

I think Electri6ity will be good, but even then I'm still a bit scared of anything sample-based to do with guitars/bass even with the new morphing technology. Heh, maybe that's just me
It might turn out to be a winner. If so, I think the bass and acoustics could be done from scratch to get the best final product.

Here is WIP demo for you (and everybody else . It shows what Electri6ity does 'between the notes': Electri6ity never just plays back a sample! It always connects the notes depending on your playing or the current articulation. The demo shows a lot of legato, pinch harmonics, slides etc. and it demonstrates how everything works even at very fast speeds! A lot of guitar library introduce a short reverb/chorus effect, if notes are played very fast which doesn't sound realistically. A significant amount of the more than three years of development was spent on such details, since it is so important for the overall realism.
Take a listen:

Thanks Benjamin,
I have HIGH hopes for this to became the ultimate all-in-one electric guitar virtual instrument.
However I think that the integrated amp simulation sound so fake/synth.
I would love to hear some tracks processed with high quality simulations such as AmpliTube 3, Vandal, or TH1.

Hi K-Slash,
some demonstration videos will be shot soon, demonstrating Electri6ity live with amp sims. Stay tuned

I have yet to hear them, as well as the BASiS DI samples through the AmpliTube 3 bass amps and Ampeg SVX !
Please bump this topic as soon as it's done, I'm subscribing it.
Have a nice weekend, and thanks for doing such playable/detailed instruments.

I certainly do - wow, those are really impressive
I suspect you'd get some excellent reviews for this product
