Hi. Smile

I would like to introduce Sir Elliot's Four Stage Compressor.

The Four Stage Compressor consists of four compressors sitting in one chassis using the same Threshold, Ratio, Attack, & Release controls. The user has the option to select four different compressors by merely selecting Compressor A, B, C, or D and, adjusting to taste.

Please bear in mind, Sir Elliot's Four Stage Compressor offers a fixed delay in which helps each compressor produce it's own characteristics in terms of tone.

Specifications

Attack Time: 0 - 300 milliseconds (LCD display will not show lower than 1 millisecond)

Release Time: 50 milliseconds to 4 seconds

Ratio: 0 - 16:1

Threshold: 0 to -200 dB

Compressor: Four-user-select independent compressors sharing the same Threshold, Ratio, Attack, & Release controls.

Frequency Response:

Please view my video presentation to hear the tonal characteristics Sir Elliot's Four Stage Compressor.

If you would like to add the Four Stage Compressor to your collection of compressors, by all means download it and enjoy. Smile

nice video - good way of presenting it Smile

for your source material I preferred algos A & D. I'm going to be doing some work this coming weekend, so might give it a blow then...

thank you!

Thank you for viewing the video duncanparsons.

Like you, I prefer creating something different than mimicking things that are already available in the market.

I would imagine by 2011, I will design hardware devices and stop creating VST plug-ins.

Cheers!

Cheers james0tucson!

I feel a video will answer more questions than trying to explain what it sounds like. Especially when I explain things from a technical standpoint. Smile

Hi.

Release time is now 50 milliseconds to 4 seconds. This will be helpful if you choose to use the Four Stage Compressor as a Limiter in addition to tame the pumping affect in Compression mode.

Thank You, Sir, for realizing this idea of a four stage compressor!

It will only be temporary. I would just like to focus on hardware designs in 2011. I have a lot of valves sitting boxes. Smile

Cheers!

Hey, this is neat. Mind if I post a blurb about it and your other free comp on my blog in an upcoming "state of freeware" post?

I don't mind.

How would I go about having my plug-ins shown on websites that specialise in free VSTs?

Well, KVR has a database of VSTs, getting your plugins submitted there is a good start. But there are other good ones as well. I'll leave it to others to fill in the blanks but Rekkerd is a commonly used one, and there are several good sites for this kind of thing.

Edit: If I might make a suggestion, how about starting a free blog to keep track of your releases? I use wordpress.com as the host for my blog on musical gear and software and I quite like it, it's very easy to use, but there are other options from Google etc.; having your plugins documented and linked in one place really helps others to find them and to keep track of your work. Especially considering that you're really going the extra mile with video demonstrations and explanations of your plugins, I think having your own personal "space" on the web where people can reliably go to check out your work would benefit you and everyone who takes advantage of your generosity in providing freebies as well.
