It would be cool to do another "Resurrection" type soundset but this time with a Jupiter 8. I think I might know why it hasn't been done yet, (I had asked about a D-50 type of thing like this a while back) and may be out of the question for the same reasons. (?) Roland is real strict I guess...but if they won't let other's do something like that, why don't they just authorize their own version of something like SampleMoog, but using a Jupiter 8 instead? |

I don't know what a "Resurrection" soundset is but there's a big difference between sampling an analog instrument and sampling what is, in essence, a sampler (playback only). |

I wonder what Jeremy thinks about that idea, or if it is even possible (for legal reasons, etc) ....crickets in the background Oh well.. I have enough sampled material, like Sampletank2xl, SonikSynth2, and WusikStation 6 (with Viral Outbreak, OB and VS Resurrection) to keep me happy I guess. It would still be cool to have something just dedicated to that synth, without getting an emu version, like Arturia's, I have heard it's not that great. |

Hi Examigan,
Yes, its possible to do a Jupiter 8 product and it should be legal in theory. But Roland certainly seems a bit more picky than most companies about stuff like this so I'm not sure it would be worth the potential hassles. |

I just love that sort of "reborn" effect that VS/OB Resurrection and Viral Outbreak have when combined with Wusikstation, and was just imagining what Wusik could do for a Jupiter sampleset done the same way. Just wondering, are there any others (non-Roland) you have thought about for any future projects? I might have asked about this already a couple years ago, but oh well. Thanks, -Rob |

Hi Examigan,
I've done quite a bit of sampling of my Microwave XT, so that's a possibility. But I'm more interested in perhaps using those samples as part of a larger non-Resurrection product. We'll see. |
