I searched, this question was asked but no one replied to that part of the question.

In the track Knas by steve angello
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GxXAbQTTa8&feature=related

how is this waveform created, it starts at about 30 seconds in.

Sounds like a main square with a bit of saw mixed in, and a bit of an attack?

Not sure exactly been messing around with it can't get it right, don't know what I'm missing.

My synths include

The D:cam synth squad, z3ta+ and any of the stock synths included in ableton live 8.

Any help in the right direction would be much appreciated.
Thank You

Mike

I know what you are saying MAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNN this synth is hot. Super duper hot

in fact, it's so hot i felt like i've heard it before... or maybe it's the fact that steve angello stole a sample, did nothing to it and added a kick drum.

Vengeance Future House 2 -> Capone

have a nice day

I don't think it's right to say that he stole it. Those samples are there to use. I think a lot of people are just surprised that someone such as Steve Angello used a pre-made sample as a main elements in an official release.

Personally I don't like using pre-made melodic elements, from what I understand a lot of people don't but what really matters is the end result anyway. It's not like he went into someone else's computer and stole the finished project from them.

You can also look at it this way... since he used a pre-made sample off a commercial sample cd, you could buy that sample set from Vengeance and use those same samples and just release a track under a different name if you really wanted to.

full melody loop, he did nothing but some autopan at the end. you can hear it in the mp3 demo on vengeance's (saying that out loud is a tongue twister!) website

Wait a minute, Like even the notes played aren't even his?

That shit is the #1 song downloaded on beatport right now. I can understand if it's a sound bank I mean I use sound banks all the time and modify the sound to my liking but I still play out every note of every track I've ever made. If he used a friggen loop how long could it have taken him to make the damn song? 15 minutes?

I love steve angello too. I hope he has something to say about all of this, I've been bumpin this track for like 3 months now in the clubs.

to each and every1 of I understand that everybody is hatin on Angello for using a frickin Loop to make a commercial track but he is a commercial composer and he is getting more than his money was worth for buying that sample pack. And most of all if anybody knows the duo called Dabruck & Klein that sample pack demo on the veangence site plays out allmost all of their releases and they make a huge buck out of those its just business. and face it most of the music industry became just a business.

Those samples are there to be used, nothing wrong with that. But with the amount of people left in disillusion about the abilities of their god, it's easy to see that this wasn't a smart move.
I use some samples in my music too, but not full on loops, especially not melodic loops. But maybe he made that track just for fun to play out, then the demand for the track justified a release. I admire the amount of success this track has given him, but all the negativity from his fans
when they learned about the facts is something I don't envy him.

I'm not gonna get involved in this debate except to say:

That's all he's ever done.

Dabruck & Klein, Spencer & Hill and a fair few others are all alias's of Manuel Schleis (vengeance creator). He also makes the synth Nexus as well. That's why all those releases sound like Vengeance demo songs.

They're samples that are supposed to be royalty free.

but u d still be pissed, i mean i have the packs and i use the kicks and sound fx more than anything, i would ever use a bass or synth loop cos thats what makes the track and id feel soooo guilty and i just wouldnt embarrass myself especially if i was at his level of popularity

Well, obviously not as blatant as 'Knas', but presets & loops have been a staple diet of his music. IMO, he's a punter, who knows what that kid up the front off his guts wants to hear. This doesn't make me think any more or less of his music, but 'surprise' is not my initial reaction when hearing him use a synth loop.

But as I said in my first post, I'm not really weighing in because I don't care either way, I'M just not surprised is all.
