Did this years ago. I might have posted it elsewhere in another thread before, but now it's finally in the music cafe. A melodic guitar and synth rock/metal composition with lots of ear candy. I forgot exactly what I used but it has some amp sim guitar and also mic'd up the Soldano amp (the clean sections). I was never happy with the distorted rhythm guitar. I did this track more for a prog synth/guitar song focusing more on the composition/layering. Bass is a sampled vsti played on the keyboard as with all other synth/piano. |

Beautiful song.
But i must agree with you on this: metalifuxx wrote: I was never happy with the distorted rhythm guitar.
IMHO this type of sound would be much better if quad tracked and in some really heavy metal song. In my imaginaion i hear a completely clean, but fat rhythm sound in your song. ---- [====[\\\\\\\\]>------, Ay caramba ! |

IMHO this type of sound would be much better if quad tracked and in some really heavy metal song. In my imaginaion i hear a completely clean, but fat rhythm sound in your song. Although the middle/bridge section is triple tracked with one guitar straight up the middle You gave me a great idea. Maybe start off with a mic'd acoustic guitar> then transition to a clean electric sound > then slight overdrive crunch. Then some heaviness at the end for the final buildup. I think I always wanted the distorted guitar in there to give it a heavy prog metal sound/theme throughout with bits of clean guitar/synth sounds sprinkled throughout to give it some depth to the repetitive riffs. Although I don't know if I can piece together all the parts again I used for the final version. The song went through a few ideas and song names, and another transformation and some re-recording/remixing of parts saved under different project names and certain parts rendered and then added etc. I don't think I could replicate that improvised guitar solo. I had one moment of greatness that I captured in a take and left it as is without editing. |

Funny I like very much that rhythm guitar sound, <grin>, IMHO what's missing
is a more aggressive bass sound, to pump it up, also the melody synth parts are mixed quite low. Good song |
