This is not really an official announcement as such, but I expect to reopen our website and release a remade Equalizer V1 on thursday the 25th November.

This is simply a remake of the original, with very few changes.
Existing DirectX customers gets a heavy discount, and anyone who has purchased within the last year gets a free update.
For anyone else there will be a reduced price (USD 99) until January 15th.
Merry Christmas : - )

On the release day I will make an announement with more details.

I'm a bit surprised that there hasn't been many comments on the updated Equalizer V1. I'm now using this on a regular basis because it's probably one of the easiest / most pleasant sounding digital EQs for basic sound shaping I've yet tested.

Sure, there's almost too many excellent products to choose from in the EQ department these days but this gets my recommendation as a sweet sounding "quick and no fuss" track EQ.

Hope there's more goodies / re-releases coming soon ... Wink

thanks for your kind words Rumba : - )

Yes, the EQ has always been a favorite of mine. But I guess the marked is just too saturated, and who has time to test all those plug-ins?

I'm not surprised there aren't any more comments; it's a very expensive EQ from a company that was inactive for years in a crowded market. Doesn't exactly inspire a stampede of new customers. GUI could use an update too...

Don't get me wrong, I liked their products back in the (DirectX) day, but I would've priced it more competitively coming back into the market. But what do I know.

Duffy, I agree with you - almost completely.

Unrealistic price tag, yes. The GUI is, um ... old school ... but the EQ really works for what I'm doing. I get the tone I want quickly, so that says a lot to me about what is going on under the bonnet. And it still impresses. So a happy cat me be.

Obviously, it would be prudent for any dev returning to the scene to pay close attention to what people are *really* prepared to pay today and what sort of interface design and product presentation helps to win new customers ...

So let's see ...

I think it's more a question of no marketing. The marked is really saturated today, and as I previously said, no-one has time to try all the plug-ins.

We have always tried to target the more serious users. I don't necessarily mean professional users, but users who use our products to make sound (rather than impress themselves with fancy GUIs).
Therefore I decided some months back that the aging GUI wasn't really an issue; the type of people who use our products can still hear it's a darn good EQ : - )

That's also the reason for the price tag (which isn't really that high when you think about it... The Sonnox Eq for example is priced at 200). People who only want to spend, say, USD 40 or 50 on an eq, aren't really that likely to be interested in the EQ-V1.
But the thing with price tags is, everyone has an opinion, which is of course ok.

Anyway, that's just my thoughts on it, you may of course disagree : - )

Peace,
