Thanks again Bootsie. Your plugins are in my every project and they are irreplaceable. Prefix filters sounds great indeed.
What comes to Nasty VCS compressor section, IMO it sounds perfect. No need for added latency for me. Limiter section I don't use personally.

I wish some day soon there will be 64bit versions of your plugins..

cheers

What would be the latency penalty for a better limiter performance?

I think, up to 64 samples would be acceptable for most scenarios. Assuming:

1) It was worth it sonically
2) Optional... or offline mode only.

But here is a real world example :
Guitar recording
- using two mics with varying distances on a source inevitably results in phase issues, making your signal weaker than necessary.
- What I do is record both mics to a single stereo track to facilitate editing and overdubbing, and then use the phase alignment in PreFix set to treat one side only to get the mics in phase.
No more trial and error with mic positioning for hours, place each mic where it sounds best and adjust phase comfortably later. Love

Drums:
lots of pairs of mics recording lots of loud things very close together:
filtering out unwanted frequencies
gating to isolate each drum.
phase to make sure pairs of mics don't cancel each other (usually 180 flip in this case though? unless your cables are all different lengths or for some reason your second snare mic needs to be several metres away :/)

Though I do miss a hysteresis control.

I asked why there isn't one, didn't get a direct reply, but I guess one could take this as an answer:

HiHi

Edit: personally I think he (or Eno) is right. Plus - as you said yourself - the gate/exp by far supersedes most if not all free ones as it is now. Can't talk about commercial ones. I only own the C1 which either you love or hate...
