isn't the best way to polish a turd to freeze it first? i think by "in the box" they mean "in the ice box"...and ice is pretty cheap. free if you know the recipe... |

thanks for the insightful replies; the question was prompted by an article in this month's sound on sound mag, wherein the strokes (for it was they) spent 10 weeks, 7 days a week, tracking 18 songs before reworking almost everything - followed by a screenshot of a "modestly sized" pro tools sessions, showing a mere 44 tracks... |

You have to be careful when polishing turds though, as sometimes the polish just makes it all bland and lifeless...
