Hello all,

We are currently (still) working on Omni 1.5. This is where we are at... We got Omni 1.5 to run on a Receptor. It is not considered to be running stable yet. The next steps are to build an installer and begin testing. There is no target date or time line for this release unfortunately.

Thanks guys,
Gary

Hey guys,

I am pleased to inform everyone that a Receptorized update is now released and available for Omnisphere 1.5.

A few notes:

The update process is quite easy (just install the mrpk at plugorama), but you must shut Receptor down completely after you install the mrpk (otherwise you may run into registration problems).

The update includes the Orb and granulizer tools, and allows users to use the VIP library for owners of Omnisphere and trillian.

Omni TR will not work on Receptor, but you can contact our support staff for info about how to connect to your receptor through iPhone or iPad.

Unfortunately we were not able to resolve the blinking issue within the Omnisphere GUI with this release.

Here's the link:

http://www.plugorama.com/product.php?id=632

Also, yes I know there are some bad typos/grammatical errors in the install instructions. I'm working with our webmaster to correct those over the next few days.

Thanks for your post; however, I'd appreciate some help here.

I have downloaded the 1.5.5.1.mrpk installer, and followed the instructions on the Plugorama site. On re - opening Omnisphere I find that the software has been upgraded to 1.5.5e, but everything in the GUI looks the same ! How do I access Harmonia, for example ? Have I actually upgraded to 1.5 or not ?

The instructions on Plugorama did not explain how to get the "new" 1.5 patches on to my Receptor. I went to the Spectrasonics site and downloaded the patches, which are (I assume) in a folder called "Omnisphere Patch Library Update 1_5_5. This contains installers for Mac and Windows. What do I need to do with them ?

I also downloaded the 1.5.6 software patch - again, what do I need to do to update the software on my Receptor ?

Lastly, on the GUI page where you can see the versions of software and patches loaded, there is a box "Check for Updates". Unfortunately, if I click on this nothing happens. Should I be able to update via the GUI ?
My "Soundsources" version is 1.0.2 and "Patches" version 1.2.0 - both of these seem to have been superseded with newer versions.

Thanks for your help

Peter,

All updates for Omnisphere have to be configured, vetted, packaged and distributed by us, so the update option in the Omnisphere GUI will not work. That's the same reason the 1.5.6 update is not available for Receptors right now.

The new features are in various places throughout the GUI (for example the new grain sampling feature is hidden deep within omnisphere's edit mode, and is only activated if you have a sampled sound source, not a waveform). My best recommendation for diving into those new features is to read the documentation/watch the videos about Omnisphere 1.5 over at the spectrasonics website.

The new 1.5 patches are not included in our auto updater. A help desk article will be added about how to install the 1.5 sounds, and the VIP patch library. To give you a short summary of how it works, the download for the 1.5 patches form spectrasonics has 3 folders "windows", "mac" and "steam". The steam folder contains all the familiar subdirectories for omnisphere, but each of them has the updated patch files. what you'd have to do to update them is go into each "steam" directory and subdirectory on both Receptor and the download from spectrasonics and replace the files in the Receptor with the files from your spectrasonics download by dragging. If you're not entirely sure what I mean by this I recommend you wait until I get the help desk article together, as it'll be more detailed.

Lastly, the soundsources have not been updated since 1.0.2, so thats the correct version to have right.

Further to your post above, has there been any progress regarding the 1.5 library sounds ?

Thanks

Sorry for the delay guys here it is.

Let the support staff know if a step is unclear. We may also be adding pictures to the instructions soon.

I was only planning on adding them if people report lots of trouble following/understanding the text instructions, and so far it seems to have been alright. Is there a step you are getting stuck at that I can help you past?

and I was waiting to view them, before doing the upgrade ~ ha!
I find them more easy to follow.
No worries, I'll attempt the upgrade shortly.

Thanks,

I've updated both the software and Library.
There appears to be nothing new in the Receptor Bank/Patches listing...
Would the new patches automatically show-up in my Receptor's Omnisphere Bank/Patches listing...
Is there a separate listing of the new additions, so that I could confirm they are now here?
Yes, the 1st page reads: Patches version 1.5.5

Okay ~ so I figured out how to find the 1.5 Library Patches, via the Omnisphere GUI ~ easy!

However, I've also confirmed that the Banks and Patches List in the Receptor GUI requires an update to include/coordinate with the 1.5 updates.

How do I insert an image here?

The 1.5 release on Receptor was made available August 2.

I was extremely disappointed to find out, only a few days ago, that it's not being worked on... I mean it's one of the best and most versatile plug-ins out there, and it seems to be off their radar.

In their defense, I was told they're working on program improvements
(i.e. WINE) that may in fact lead to a solution for the annoying 'blinking' and constant changes.

Regardless, I think all Receptor users who run Omnisphere need to speak-up about this.
