Latest News: MusicDevelopments updates RapidComposer to v2.06

Hello Attila!
I'm still at the very initial stage of learning and using Rapid Composer. Right from the start I noticed a bug. In the master track the letter font that displays the chord names is too big. Chord names don't fit in the space of a master track line. And I can't expand the view of a master track. Also the three tabs above my track named Untitled, Verse 1 and Line 1 are also obscured and are showing only partially. The beats counter window suffers from the same problem. I've uploaded a picture of my screen. You can see what it looks like here. http://www.box.net/shared/r404mp6z6g3cyfhifckh Maybe it's the way my computer is set up. I like my fonts on the screen to be on the bigger side. In the Display setting of my Windows 7 I changed the "Set Custom text size (DPI) to 155%. Otherwise I can't read the small text that originally appears on my laptop. Is it possible to adjust these fonts inside the Rapid composer? Another question. I can't seem to figure out how to add more chords to the master track. There is always 4 chords by default when a new project is created. I can't add even a single additional chord. I drag the phrases or chords from the browser to the empty space but this does nothing. It only replaces existing 4 chords. Thanks for the help. Vitali |

I can't help with the fonts at the moment ... but I can help with the chords.
To add more than 4 chords to the initial 4 bar line (or any configuration in the master track line), right 'click' on the master track and choose 'divide.' This will place a new division at the closest 'snap' point to where you right clicked. It will initially have the same chord as the section divided, but you can now change it with the drop down menu or the right 'click' options for new chord base, type, etc. The size of the division will follow the Composition window 'snap' setting. So, for example, if you select '1/8th,' you can make chord divisions at any 1/8 note interval in the bar. Como ---- Help! I've fallen up and can't get down! Thanks for the reply. Will the change of font size be available in the future updates?
About adding chords, is the only way to do it is through divide function? This seems counterproductive. I'd have to do a lot of shifting stuff around and resizing clips just to add some new chords. It would be much easier to just press record and with a midi keyboard input new chord. Vitali |

Hi Vitali,
the screenshot looks bad indeed. We are investigating this. Is "Custom text size (DPI)" the only non-standard setting on your PC? Is "Windows XP style DPI scaling" on? Yes, it would be good to have selectable font size. You can manipulate the chords on the master track - by division (select "Divide" from the context pop-up) - by adding a new section (select "Add" (1 to 16 beats) from the context pop-up) - by resizing the sections (click and drag the section left or right borders) Once you created a new chord section, you can choose "Record Chord From MIDI In" from the context pop-up to immediately choose a chord, or you can choose a chord by clicking on the chord name. Thanks, Attila |
