Hey everyone,
I am thinking about getting DM Pro, but before i do i wondered if you lot might be able to help me out. I'm basically after a tool that i can use to compose tracks and jam live, using my Evoloution MK-449C and/or my Evolution X-Session(DJ style controller). Can i do the following: * Alter loop pitches( Like Ableton Live) * Re-arrange my chooped loops on the fly * Use 2 soundcards - 1 for DJ-Style preview and one for main output * use FX a both inserts and sends * USe VST fx Is it basically possible for me to use this thing(with practise) as a complete workstation for live composing and sequencing of ENTIRE tracks. My ultimate idea is to use FLStudio to make loads of loops, and then jam with them and record to make tracks in DM pro. Or use in combination, DM as a plugin in FL. Any advice at all in regard to this program appreciated. Thanks in advance. Rob |

Hi Rob,
Some quick answers for you: * Alter loop pitches( Like Ableton Live) Yes. * Re-arrange my chooped loops on the fly Yes. * Use 2 soundcards - 1 for DJ-Style preview and one for main output I don't think so, but you can certainly use multiple outputs on the same card. * use FX a both inserts and sends No, not within DM anyway. But why not wrap it in EnergyXT. That should give you enough flexibility with FX. * USe VST fx No, but see above answer. I know DM was made by Link with the express purpose of playing live. Alot of its users (like me) just use it in the studio, and don't really make as much use of some as the features as we might do. Thats the thing with DM... it seems to be equally at home on stage as in the studio. I'm sure Link will be happy to answer any questions you've got regarding live stuff. Good luck |
