Markup on IPads are a little over 6 percent so you won't find much of a discount anywhere. Best discounts were during the Black Friday sale at Apple.memyselfandus wrote:New to the ipad stuff. If I was to buy one.. what are the best options?
Helps to sell these things and it was sure disappointing to see how low the markup is on Apple gear in general. Also helps keep the resale value high versus other gear.
Your best bet now is to look at the Apple refurb section or wait for someone to sell theirs at the right price for you.

Apple doesn't really allow discounting; with some limited exceptions, they're $499/$599/$699 everywhere. But the previous suggestion of looking for a refurb is a good idea. Apple's refurbs have always been great quality, in my experience.

Nope, Apple doesn't control what resellers sell for. Margin is so low that everyone sells at list price as it isn't worth the little money there is in selling Apple. (FYI- I am a card-holding Apple Certified Sales Professional)- in case you thought I was just talking out of my Southern Exposure
