![]() Thanks EricUO. The CPU should stay very acceptable. I'll give some more precise numbers, but iirc on my antique quad core 9650 test machine one instance of Le Masque takes between 2/4% depending of the settings. -------- Else I've added in the second post of this thread another audio demo clip : LiveDrum2 : "In this example Xavier tweaks the mask parameters in real time using the mouse on the GUI, while a standard clubby drumloop is playing. Yu can hear cut-off and resonnance tweaking. So you can see you can generate some Simmonesque "toms" and add "groove to the groove". This would not be possible without the Filters and hopefully show the musicality of the zero-delay feedback Filters used for ages by some Xils-Lab synths" This one might have been called "chanting toms" More demos soon. ---- www.lelotusbleu.fr Soundbanks for Vsti 5000+ Instruments for 23 Vstis, 8 Sound Designers, Hours of audio Demos. A 5th demo based on a soulffunkish track, wich uses some Midi CC automation.
Soulf Funk Demo Soul Funk Demo : "This tracks is based on a drumloop of natural drums, that you can hear dry at the beginning of the clip, and two PolyKKB II bass and keys instruments. Only the drumloop is processed by Le Masque , wich was placed on an Aux Bus. On this track you can hear Le Masque's REAL TIME AUTOMATION via MIDI CC. I've added some midi tracks modulating the following parameters Live : Mod Wheel on Cut off, Delay Time Left and Delay Feeddback Left, and finally the resonnance. So what you hear on the drums is a single Le Masque preset with added Midi CC automation. I created only two masks on the grid for this preset : Theyre placed on the second and 4th beat, and therefore only the Snare drum is in the masks and is processed by the delay." ---- www.lelotusbleu.fr Soundbanks for Vsti 5000+ Instruments for 23 Vstis, 8 Sound Designers, Hours of audio Demos. Another demo with Le Masque processing a " Loungy electronic sitar" part.
Lounge Sitar Lounge Sitar : " Le Masque was placed as an insert on a live PolyKB II playing, you hear the dry pattern once then the effected pattern. A reverb was added on this demo and it was applied on an aux bus, processing the entire PolyKB II + The Mask Channel. This demo is intended to show how a very boring electronic, quantised, "Sitar" part can go back to life with the Help of the Mask. If you listen carefully to this track you will hear endless subtle variations as I browse some factory presets. Le Masque can be as subtle as you need it to be. First the dry loop with reverb, then the effected patterns " Last Minute Edit : Demo installers should be available very soon. I'll post the links asap. ---- www.lelotusbleu.fr Soundbanks for Vsti 5000+ Instruments for 23 Vstis, 8 Sound Designers, Hours of audio Demos. The Sound you miss might be there [Xils-Lab Team] |

You can now test Le Masque and see if you find it usefull. The demo and the full version are both dongleless.
It comes with many factory presets to get you started. Presets prefixed IFS ( Insert Full Mask = Standard delay ) or IMS ( Insert Multiple Masks Sync to clock delay ) are intendted to be used as INSERT on your Tracks. Presets prefixed with BFS ( Bus Full Mask Sync ) or BMS ( Bus Multi Masks, Sync ) are intended to be used on an AUXILLIAY BUS. Other preset include FX, and presets intended to be used at fixed tempos because the delay times are not synced to clock, wich lead to very different shuffles Win 32 http://www.xils-lab.com/download_files/LeMasqueDelay/LeMasqu eDelay_demo_win32_setup.exe Win 64 http://www.xils-lab.com/download_files/LeMasqueDelay/LeMasqu eDelay_demo_win64_setup.exe Mac 32 http://www.xils-lab.com/download_files/LeMasqueDelay/LeMasqu eDelay_demo_osx32_setup.dmg Mac 64 http://www.xils-lab.com/download_files/LeMasqueDelay/LeMasqu eDelay_demo_osx64_setup.dmg Note : People who use 32bits hosts on 64 bits systems ( example Cubase 6 32 on Win 7x64 ) should install the Win 32 version If you have any comments or questions, feel free to post in this thread, and I'll try to answer LtZ ---- www.lelotusbleu.fr Soundbanks for Vsti 5000+ Instruments for 23 Vstis, 8 Sound Designers, Hours of audio Demos. hmmm between logic delay designer, the ever incredible tape delay, nomad echos, nomad tempo delay, RP delay, Waves supertap..PSP 85.. and i am not being sarcastic.. does this bring anything else to the table?
Note i generally only use the two logic delays and PSP 85 which is the only delay i actually bought because it is a delay. i.e. the others were all parts of a pack that i did not get in any way for the delays. (except for logic, believe it or not the tape delay is something i cannot live without, ) ---- Please call me Theo. |

(except for logic, believe it or not the tape delay is something i cannot live without, ) Hi Theo, Well Theo, just install the Demo version ( 30 seconds ), put a drumloop on your Daw and insert Le Masque in its channel and browse the presets withh the IMS or IFS prefix ( Insert Multiple Masks Sync ), and within a few minutes my guess is that you'll see why La Masque is different both regarding workflow ( extremely fast and intuitive ), Features ( It can do things other delays can't do, though the opposite is also true of course ) and for only ..... the sound Workflow : Le Masque lets you specify what parts of the source will be processed by the delay, both by its time position ( ie only the snares on the 2nd and 4rth beat ) AND by its frequency content ( ie only the HH of the first bar of a 4 bar drumloop. Some could say that the same can be achieved by Daw automation, but not only Le Masque is much fore faster, easier to use and flexible, but it has other features wich cant be emulated by automation ( like Lfos or envelopes triggered by the Masks themselves ) Features : All the modulators are deeply tied to the Mask concept itsef. Masks can be quantised, or not. Can emulate some step sequencer, but are much more sophisticated. The Mask can also be very handy in Live situations, it has its own clock and a tap tempo version. You can even use the tap tempo inside your host, it will give you instantly delays wich have your own groove, and not the midi synced feel. Le Masque is also true stereo from the beginning to the end. You can control the stereo in many sophisticated ways. The Sound : Like synths, delays have their own sound. Le Masque uses Xils-Lab zero-delay feedback multimode filters, and I believe it gave its sound a particular touch. My wish is that it can also be your regular standard go to delay because of this feature alone : The Sound I'm currently making some videos wich will hopefully demonstrate the possibilities of La Masque. Until that you can listen to the audio demos ( I'll add one in a few minutes) and like I said, give a try to the demo. If you then say me that you still can't see how it is different from other delays, I take the risk and I'll offer you a soundbank ( yes that's how much I both trust your honnesty and I am confident you'll find something in it ) Cheers, L. ---- www.lelotusbleu.fr Soundbanks for Vsti 5000+ Instruments for 23 Vstis, 8 Sound Designers, Hours of audio Demos. ![]() Thanks EricUO. The CPU should stay very acceptable. I'll give some more precise numbers, but iirc on my antique quad core 9650 test machine one instance of Le Masque takes between 2/4% depending of the settings. On my even more antique Core 2 Quad (4 x 2.4 GHz) it's around 3-7% for one instance depending on the preset/settings. The Core 2 Quad Q9650 got 3.0 GHz for one core (instead of 2.4 GHz at the Q6600) so the difference is mostly based on the clock speed. Newer i7 processors should handle it even better. Ingo |

Not currently Damn, why does everyone always get this wrong. (well except for PSP) This will very probably be added in a future major update. Atm we will concentrate on fixing eventual bugs in the x32/x64 verions on this or that OS/Daw/System combinations. Meanwhile the Stereo postion of each delay line is free, and you can automate it via Midi CC ( Like in the Soulf Funk demo which is the only demo where I used midi CC automation, and only using it to process the Left Delay ( Time, Feedback, Pan mostly) and the Filter ( Cut-off with the Mod Wheel, and resonnance via Midi cc ) ---- www.lelotusbleu.fr Soundbanks for Vsti 5000+ Instruments for 23 Vstis, 8 Sound Designers, Hours of audio Demos. Hi,
I can say a little more : On each masks, you can find a "level" value. This value is the source of two modulation destinations (see the time/mod panel). For the moment, only a few destination are available, but this will change with further versions as we will provide more, of course including the pan. Best regards Xavier |

The little red cursor at the bottom of the grid is not synchro to the audio. This is because my screen capture software cant record the audio simultaneously ( cant see my asio drivers I'll try to get a better synthchro by editing the video clips in a future version of the video. i guess this is aimed at ppl who use loops a lot, not ppl who use single hits
good idea, but not useful for my workflow. |
