Hey all, I haven't been in this thread for awhile, but have another q maybe someone can help me out with.

I just built a fancy new DAW, but didn't put a dvd drive in it. Is there anyway to install my copy of electri6ity without one?

I still have my sample hdd drive with all the samples on it, and of course have the box with the cd key.

Can I just download kontakt player and point it to the samples somehow?

Or is my best bet to just buy a dvd drive?

Thanks,
Todd

You should be able to download the player.

Ok, downloaded kontakt 5 player, loaded up my samples, and it opens like normal. But in Demo Mode. There is an activate button, which opens kontakt service center, but there is nothing in the service center about electri6ity which would allow me to enter my registration code.

Is there a way to manually add a library to the kontakt service center program?

Maybe someone can help me with this. I am trying to use cc's to control morphing. I went into setup and changed to the proper mode, and set the cc for morphing to 11, and vibrato to 1 so I could control it with the mod wheel. For some reason the mod wheel has no effect. Also, I tried to control vibrato type with the assigned cc, and for some reason it always resets to the default. Anyone have an idea what might be going on?

I still have to work on the sound to play metal. Thank you for all your info.
I loved working with Electri6ity. The sound and use is really what I found best for now. A small demo album (made in 10 days): http://soundcloud.com/phreymusic/sets/overcoming-gravity/

PhRey, if you want a metal-sounding guitar for rhythm, I recommend Impact Soundworks Shreddage, as well as the bass library to go with it. They both sound absolutely amazing.

@warfighter67 : thank you. But it seems that you need an amp sims (like Guitar Rig 4 etc..) to play this samples isn't it ?

Yes, that's true.. Shreddage needs an amp sim.

You really need a nice amp sim to to get the most out of Electri6ity as well IMO.

BTW, I'm getting really good Metal styled guitar results from Electri6ity & Guitar Rig, currently.. on an Instrumental, Death Metal project/album I'm working on.

Prominy instruments are notoriously overpriced, and really complicated to use.

so, no.. haven't tried it. not really interested in any of their products.

PhRey,Shreddage comes with a special version of peavy revalver.
Some of the best sampled guitar amp sim tones I've heard so far, are on these demos:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5YQqPTLuIg&feature=rel ated

PhRey, you can achieve metal sounds with Electri6ity. Here's a link to one of my prog metal songs using Electri6ity:

http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_11684112

I'm routing Electri6ity into Guitar Rig 4 with Rammfire. There are a number of settings in Electri6ity that will help you achieve the metal sound. Off the top of my head here are a few:

    Vertical picking
    Muted tightness set to 1
Muted to sustain notes for picking set to 100% (you can also set this to 100% for strumming, but if you use chucka chuckas, it will cause them to sound weak unless you set the strumming muted to sustain back to 0%)
Preamp is important, usually turn down the tone. Bass and distortion between 40%-60% I found is pretty good. Play around with the preamp settings.

Next time I power up my DAW, I'll take a look at the settings and let you know what else you should tweak.

Rick, I look forward to hearing your instrumental death metal project!
