It's released also for Windows, has somebody tested it? What do you think about it?

I didn't realize they had a Win version. I have a version 1 OSX license so I'll download and give it a go.

Thanks for the heads up.

P.S. I don't see any upgrade pricing on the website though.

I just tried it under Linux : seems a very well tailored re-use of Ardour, very fine for audio, with good plugins. Excellent for an audio recording studio, but it has no midi tracks.
I'm impatient too to see the windwos port of Ardour in action...

There is a "ipps-5.1.dll" missing so the scanning of VST plug-ins is not working. Has somebody get Mixbus working on Windows 7?

Btw. Shell plug-ins are not supported so Waves will not work.

Waves still uses a shell?? I thought they went native VST years ago?

Yep. And as luck would have it the shell doesn't work in Tracktion, Reaper, minihost, EnergyXT, FLStudio or Wavelab 7. Not for me anyway. If not for shell2vst written by xlutop I couldn't even use my Waves plugins.

ipps-5.1.dll is related to a vst plugin, not to Mixbus.
Install this plugin demo and you'll be ok:

It worked for me....

Yes, Acoustica Audio is the problem, it uses this Intel lib! I've not installed the demo but it's a Nebula based plug-in so I got the idea about the problem)

Btw. the guys from Harrison are very quick with help and answers. VST support will also improved in the future (this time it's more a limited VST support).
There will also be an update shortly which helps to manage plugins more thoroughly.

Amazing considering how much they charge. I know they used to use this shell to wrap their dx versions - does that mean they are still making these as primarily dx plugins? - they must be about the only developers still using that format if so.

I love the design (and price) of this app! Looking forward to hearing from someone's hands-on experience with the Windows version.

The plugins might just be so bloated with code they need to use, that the shell system might allow them to do at least some kind of optimization size wise. (ie, the shell plugin contains the library code and the individual plugins then import the code from the shell).
