We are running a competition to create a video showcasing Alchemy Mobile for iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch. The creator of the best Alchemy Mobile video will win $500 cash, and two runners up will get three Camel Audio products of their choice.
Everyone who enters a video which passes basic quality standards will win a Sound Library of their choice (desktop + mobile versions included). This competition isn't just open to Pro Upgrade customers - you can use the free versions if you wish.
Your video can include any combination of video of you playing one or more devices with your fingers or attached MIDI controller - whatever helps to create an entertaining video and a great performance that shows off the capabilities of Alchemy Mobile. This is your opportunity to show us your favourite techniques for making music with Alchemy Mobile. The winners will be selected based on how effective the video is in showcasing Alchemy Mobile and how entertaining the video is to watch. Rules 1) The deadline for submissions is 5th December 2011 2) To enter a video must be posted to YouTube and a link posted to our Facebook page or emailed to support@camelaudio.com 3) Videos must be between 1 and 3 minutes long 4) You do not need to be a Camel Audio customer to enter - you are welcome to use the free version. 5) Camel Audio will decide who the winners are, and our decision is final. 6) Members of Camel Audio (ie. The people with their photos here) are not eligible to enter. However, sound designers who created sounds for the products are eligible and encouraged to enter! 7) All licenses provided as prizes are NFR. Easy Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Your Video 1) Decide which part(s) you want to perform live Here's one possible approach: create a backing track using Alchemy Mobile or any combination of iOS apps. Paste the track as a loop in to Alchemy Mobile or your DAW and play along to the loop. You may connect the output of Alchemy Mobile to your DAW to record the output, and use a video camera to capture yourself playing along with one or more iOS devices. Videos showing different features of the App will be viewed favourably by us, such as changing presets, performance controls and XY pads in addition to the remix pad. We recommending capturing the audio directly through the headphone output if possible, to ensure decent audio quality. 2) Record your video Try a short test recording first to make sure that audio quality is OK. Then record the whole thing - do as many takes as needed to get a well recorded result. 3) Upload to YouTube You can watch a video explaining how to upload footage to YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFyIT7rVZ0Q We suggest giving the video a title of 'Alchemy Mobile Synth on [iPhone/iPad] by [YourName]'. 4) Post to the Camel Audio Facebook page or email support@camelaudio.com with a link to the video. When we receive your entry, we'll take a look at it and check that it meets our minimum quality standards. The most likely reasons for refusal are a) it doesn't adhere to the above rules b) the quality of the music demonstrated does not meet our standards. We'll email you back to let you know if we've accepted it or not. Good luck! Ben |

A little bump for our Alchemy Mobile competition. The closing date has been extended because a few people asked for more time. Good luck!
