I just wanted to pop in here to address a couple things. First off, as was noted, we're working our way through them. If you look at our RSS feed here: http://feeds.feedburner.com/audiodamage you'll see that it takes us about a week to do each one. One of them (Ricochet) was very problematic because the multi-tap delay needed some internal work to be 64-bit compatible; that took almost 3 weeks, and held things up considerably.
The products that are 64-bit currently are Discord 3, Replicant 1.5, Phosphor, Ricochet, Dubstation, Automaton, Panstation, Filterstation, Eos, Ratshack Reverb, Kombinat Dva, and BigSeq2. We're doing Replicant over tomorrow, as we made several improvements to the Symbiosis AU wrapper we use over the last couple months, and there is another problem with Replicant 1.5 AU 64-bit in that it sometimes loses its presets when it is updated or installed for the first time. To be clear, there is no "validation issue" with Discord 3 that is endemic. Discord 3 works fine in Logic 9.1.6 64-bit; there was a brief spell with a bit of a problem when we first released the 64-bit version, but that was solved almost as soon as we found it, as I noted in my blog and in the RSS feed. If, for some reason, you don't believe me, here is the current shipping version of Discord 3 in the current shipping version of Logic, and I took this screenshot just a few minutes ago:
Ask any of the Friends Of AD who post here who use AUs and they'll tell you the same thing: Discord 3 works fine in Logic. Any issues experienced at this point with Discord 3 are purely the typical validation issues that everyone experiences that have no rhyme nor reason, but are usually solved with a brief exchange. If you want to say I'm an asshole or whatever, that's totally fine, but if you didn't contact me about the issue directly and you didn't ask for a refund then I don't know what to tell you other than "sorry." ---- Chris Randall Plug-ins: http://www.audiodamage.com Blog: http://www.analogindustries.com Music: http://micronaut.bandcamp.com/ |

If the latest version of Discord3 is 110, then I am sorry Chris but it did not work. It woul not pass validation(except in the terminal- and what does that really prove it it won't actually open in Logic?) and it will not open. If you are talking about a later version, I will be glad to eat my words. If 110 is the latest version, then there are at least two of us for which Discord3 doesn't work in Logic. I assume ZenPunkHippy has the latest version of the plugin and Logic and he apparently is having the same issue as I:
And I quote from his reply on this thread: The 64-bit version of Discord 3 fails validation here ("could not be opened"). So if 110 is the latest version and that is the one Zen was talking about, there are at least two of us with this issue. I did communicate with Chris and tried these suggestions he made: ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------------- Okay, there are two more obvious things to try. Just to be clear, the error is a result of the plug-in not seeing the reg code file, so it's something to do with the file system on the Mac, or Logic just being Logic. First, repair disk permissions. In order to save yourself the trouble of starting Logic again to rescan, you can rescan from the command line. Open up a Terminal window and just copy/paste this line in: auval -v aumf ADd3 AuDa If it passes there, you're good to go. If not, then do this next step, which is annoying but not a bad idea to do from time to time anyhow. Logic, for reasons best known only to the people that made it, caches all your plug-ins. Delete the cache, which you can find in [user]/Library/Caches/com.apple.audiounits.cache Just delete the file, then start Logic, and it will scan every AU again. This usually solves the problem if the repair disk permissions didn't. Chris Randall Audio Damage, Inc. http://www.audiodamage.com ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------------- No Joy. The plugin did pass validation in the terminal but would not validate and open in Logic.. Chris didn't have anything else to offer except his insistence that the plug-in functioned properly . I also tried removing all plugins from the component folder except Discord3 - same issue. Finally had to get a refund. I kept my paid versions of Filterstation and Replicant- they work fine. I really like Audio Damage plugins - creativity enhancers and sound very good. I would really like to own a working version of Discord3 and get this whole issue sorted out once and for all if possible... So- I would appreciate it if anyone else reading this thread that is either having this issue with Logic and Discord3 would speak up. Also those which do not have this issue and the plugin is working fine. Lets see how many of us are actually having this issue and how many are not... Gary Chambers Visionary Music |

I've got Discord 3 installed on 2 Mac's running 10.6.8 with all the latest updates installed including Logic 9.1.6.
Discord 3 x64 passes Logic AU validation on one machine, but fails on the other. The AU validation error in Logic is the same as reported earlier: could not open file, although the command line reports success. This does suggest the problem is system related rather than the plugin ... quite possibly permissions, as Chris mentioned. I will continue investigating and if I can work out how to fix it will post back here. Peace, Andy. |

Same here... the AU passes validation from the Terminal, but not the AU Validation Tool from within Logic in 64-bit mode.
" Just to be clear, the error is a result of the plug-in not seeing the reg code file, so it's something to do with the file system on the Mac, or Logic just being Logic." Where is the 'reg code file' installed? Is this in Receipts? EDIT: fwiw, I ran auval -v aumf ADd3 AuDa and ran 64-bit Kore2 stand alone and it won't see Discord3 either. This is following a permissions repair. So, it's not isolated to Logic. ---- "All persons living or dead are purely coincidental." - Vonnegut |

Fluid updated to x64
It's fun to play "check for x64 updates" on the site. I've given up on RRP |

Thanks! I was thinking though more about how I started this thought to get the attention of them to update RRP (or maybe even the free one |

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that their commercial plugins are top priority for an update to x64, and the three free plugins will be last to be updated.
Strikes me the last remaining are Dr. Device, Ronin, Rough Rider Pro, 914 Fixed Filter Bank, and Phase Two. It also strikes me that they've been doing this mostly in keeping with order of number of registered users per product. I don't think Rough Rider Pro sold like gangbusters, I would think in part because the free version was so good. |
