Hi KVRarians
Was wondering if anyone experienced a similar issue to mine with iOS free version of Sampletank. It was working find on my iphone 4, but now it has lots of issues on iPhone 4S... First of all the sounds are constantly distorted as if there was another sample overlayed on each key. Then when I go to settings I have this strange unexplained option of choosing between A and B output and being advise to change it if the sounds distorts. So I try to change it and the app starts crashing at random... unusable Many thanks for help or input |

Have you tried nuking the app- doing a hard reset (hold power and home button until it power cycles)- then re-installing the app? Maybe something is afoul with the install.
Or maybe it is just a "feature"- something like IK's take on tube warmth hahaha! ---- ʝλ√λʝ |

First, make sure you are not running too many other apps in the background. This can seriously tax your device's CPU and cause SampleTank (and other apps) to behave in less than ideal form. Double tap the home button to see the list of all open apps. Now tap and hold any of those apps to bring up the red minus signs that allow to quit each app. Quit any apps that you are not immediately using. This will make your device perform better in general. Tap the home button again when done.
Next, go to the SampleTank Settings page by tapping the gear icon in the top bar, and check Dock Compatibility Mode. If you are not using a dock, choose A. If you *are* using a dock, start with A. If you hear obvious distortion, choose B. While in Settings, you can also experiment with toggling between Low Latency and Ultra-Low Latency. The Low Latency setting will provide more relief to your CPU, and this is especially useful if you have a less powerful device like an iPhone 3GS. Finally, if you are actually hearing two sounds at once, then you must be using an external MIDI controller and have more than one part set to the same MIDI channel with more than part enabled (you cannot actually layer two sounds with just the device alone). If this is the case, Tap SOUNDS, then tap the PARTS button to show all four parts. Only the parts that are highlighted red are active. If more than one part is active, then tap just the part you want to play to enable that part alone; That part will highlight red, and the others will appear in black to indicate that they are disabled. The MIDI channel is in the upper right corner of each part. Tap the channel number there to increment it to the channel you want to use for each part. |

That is odd. Try a hard reset like advised and be sure to close any apps running in the background. If your still having problems please contact our Tech Support for some 1 on 1 help. |

Obik, Questiion on iPHone sampletank. I do see that there are up to four sounds Parts A,B,C and D that can be selected and also layered. But is there "smooth transition" between the Parts/sounds?? Like if I'm using only Part A that has delay and reverb, then quickly switch to Part B, will the effects of Part A be abruptly cut?? Thanks for the feedback! |

They should fade out as long as you aren't holding the sustain pedal when switching to another sound. |

ObiK,
I dismissed the restore option when ST opened today and now it crashes every time it is opened. It has worked without problems until now. Do I need to uninstall the app and reinstall it to work properly? Also, is the new update accessible within the app? I thought I read the update was available at the app store but it looks like it will charge me again for the full version. I originally got the free version and upgraded in app including all instrument packs. Any help would be appreciated. |

I would try and uninstalling/reinstalling. Sounds like there was a glitch with the download of the install. If that doesn't work contact our support so we can help you out.
As for the in app purchases, if you already bought something, buy it again. iTunes will recognize what you have already purchased and simply reinstall it without charging you twice. |

I had the same problem with the crashes. I had Sampletank Free and had purchased every possible IAP. Everything worked fine until the update. I had to restore my IAP and then Sampletank would crash at the load screen.
I deleted the app and then reinstalled it, restored my IAP, and now everything seems to work just fine. |

I had a similar issue with the full version: updated it, restored purchases, app crashed and it wouldn't reopen. I deleted and re-downloaded the app, did the restore purchases from the little dialog box that pops up and... nothing. All of my packs were still locked. So I went to the shopping cart icon and restored purchases there and everything came back. Not what I would call a smooth procedure, but in the end everything worked. |
