Tried the free version, then bought the full. I like the selection of sounds available for the oscillators, and there are some nice modulation possibilities.
I downloaded that Viena soundfont editor so I can get some of my own favorite sounds in there to use as oscillators. Never made a soundfont before, and that program is old tech and not very intuitive. But I think I've got it figured out now. If anybody else is trying it for the first time, definitely read the help file first. You have to import your .wav files to use as samples, then create instruments out of them, then create presets out of the instruments. Kind of tricky. Dan |

Dan There is a zip file available containing a pdf and some stuff on handling, managing and creating sf2 files. www.hgf-synthesizer.de/se/tmp/SF2-Tips&Tools.zip you might also look here for about 2GB of free sf2 files http://www.hgf-synthesizer.de/se/dl/usercontent.html HG |

After modifying a preset and moving to another one, if you re-visit the preset you modified, it is still modified, even if you didn't save it or wanted to save it.
(I haven't looked closely at Tiger, but some of the earlier Fortune synths are like this, yes?) Is there an easy way to reset the preset to it's original state without using the Load feature or re-initializing the synth. Not criticizing the methodology, I just prefer to always roll back to the original state if I re-visit a preset. If I wanted to save what I changed, I could always save the preset. Otherwise, I love the Fortune synths. Always unusual sounds. OC |

Jesse J. Allen mailed:
"I just came home from a Hollywood recording project today and tried out The Tiger, absolutely incredible! You have really taken it to another level with this one; the interface is great and the sounds are just stunning. I haven't been able to stop messing around with this since I fired it up hours ago. ... I will most certainly be using this one on upcoming tracks!" Bev Stanton: "HG This is your best synth yet!!!!!!! I absolutely love it!! I am finding so much inspiration today ..." HG |
