Hello Asseca and all KVR readers
First , thanks a lot for this Mgui tool, which looks very interesting for what I'm doing! I'm trying to modify my BCR2000 by fixing de pots on a transparent sheet(plexi..) for placing these pots on a LCD screen. And after that, i will reconnect the pots to the BCR motherboard with the help of thin wires. If i can do this properly, and make a nice skin (with Mgui) for my VSTi and hardware synths, I will have a controller looking like a real synth with hands on control (with an "inspiring" visual feedback...)! Even if reach a perfect visual feedback of the parameters on the LCD screen, I want the parameters to be sent back to the BCR to avoid pot jumps. (After a vsti preset change for example). So i need the BCR2000 feedback working as in your template "bcr24+8FX" I tried this template with Mverb plugin. And i loaded the wraped plugin in Aahost, chainer and Reaper. With the two firsts hosts, I got a perfect parameters feedback, But with Reaper no feedback (even after disabling in reapers "preferences" the midi out to the BCR2000). I could only control the plug with the bcr knobs (one way)! I thinked that, maybe, reaper was blocking the direct send of midi data's from a vst(i) plugin to "outside world", but i remember that few month a ago i made a synthedit vst plug who was sending midi data to my bcr2000 from reaper! Do you have any idea on this subject? Cheers. |

Are you sure the BCR is not assigned in "Control Editors", because the original BCR driver can only receive data from one MIDI "connection".
You *might* be able to use both by first sending the output MIDI data of Reaper's "Control Editors" plus mGUI's BCR-connection to e.g. MIDI-YOKE ... |

Thanks for your quick reply Asseca,
I got it working (partly)! In fact the wrapped vsti are working fine(with feedback e.g. CS80, syntix) But still no feedback for vst effects (mverb, pariseq) ??? Mgui is a really nice tool but some experience (and manual reading) is required to dig into the .ini files ... The name given to my BCR 2000 when plugged is different time to time ("USB audio device" or "BCR2000 port 1") so i had to modify de global.ini (parameter "intMidiFB-1=BCR2000 port 1" )file to make my dlls work! so i need to redo the dlls each time, it's a mess! I will see if i can fix these name given by BCR windows driver(win XP) Little question, why did you used only 3 rows of pots(instead of 4) in yours bcr2000 skins? I'm planning to use 7 rows in total (56 pots) i will buy 24 encoders and some electronic chips to detect in which row a knob is moving and "pressing for me" one of the de four "encoder group" buttons of the BCR2000 top knobs row! Once this project finished , I will post few pics here! Good evening and thanks again for your availability! |

Oups ,now feedback does not work in reaper for the plugs created yesterday and not modified (as CS80 and syntyx) ( they are still working with aahost)
I must be doing something wrong with reaper! I will investigate !!! cheers. |

Hello localhero44,
As i have few project in parallel, it take some time. I finished that week the construction of the DIY synth kit called Shruthi(4 pole mission). For about 150 Euro i build quite easily this great sounding synth! These one as only 5 pots to control a lot of parameters. And even if this synth menu is very well thinked and easy to use with few pots), I planned to control it with my future controller made with a BCR 2000! So About my modified BCR2000 project, i glued this weekend 56 encoder in a polycarbonate sheet!
I still have to: - Wire all this pots to a circuit board with some electronics (8 circuits to commute 4 encoders(of my polycarbonate) to one encoder(of the BCR top row)) - place 52 push butons on the sides and the bottom of the screen - wire this butons the "same" way as the encoders (trough some electronics) And on the software side, i want to use the "part" system used by asseca on his mgui BCR2000 projects. But would like to have different background graphics for the different parts! I manage to do it with some difficulty but its not perfect( i tried using a big knob with an image created with skinman, but changing part updates the big knob image and bring it to the front! the others pots are hidden behind and we need to use the mouse to tried to bring the focus on the small control pots). In the following image there is no backroung at all!
Still some work ... [/img] |
