That does sound nice (composition, source material, effect). I like the slight grind that the equal temperament produces.

I also like the use of the knob as a logo. :D I still get heat every now and then for my GUIs (there was a long thread about them over at GS recently), so it is cool that my "abstracted" knob design can be used as an icon.

The original "abstracted" knob idea came from the initial GUI designs from my wife. She was making a mockup of what became FreqEcho in Illustrator, and used a circle + line to represent the knobs. I had planned on using more realistic knobs at the time (generated by the excellent KnobMan program), but when I saw my wife's work, I yelled "THAT'S IT!!!"

My wife's GUI mockup triggered some previously unexpressed love for minimalist graphic design in me. I later figured out that the stuff I like was based in the Swiss School or International School, although my exposure to it was probably based on the late 60's / early 70's expressions of this that I would have seen as a kid. Those designs always evoke "the future" to me - not any actual future (like the current technological dystopia we find ourselves in), but a much cooler future with flying cars and jetpacks.

That would be a better name for a stompbox than a plugin.

Valhalla plugins: Minimal GUI. Fair number of knobs. Solid colors. Exist.

Valhalla stompboxes: Metal flake paint jobs. Only a few knobs. Only exist in my head.

I wish I didn't suck at soldering.

I'm looking for the right beta tester:

- Already owns VRoom, but not ÜberMod
- Is running Lion

If you fit those criteria, and would like to beta test the new version of ÜberMod (and be a bit of a guinea pig), drop me a note. I need to see if there are any weird anomalies going on with Lion and my installer.

Sean, it's quite funny that I referred to your design philosophy at a job interview yesterday. I love the simplicity.

Thanks! The sound and the composition are really simple. ÜberMod adds all the magic! :)

When I started to make the ÜberMod audio demos I thought it would be a nice idea to use a knob of ÜberMod as the picture for the set since your design is quite unique and instantly recognizable. Since then I always use a knob of the relevant plugin as the picture for my audio demo sets :)

I don't get it! Your plugins have the nicest GUIs in plugin land imo! (The recent Audio Damage GUIs are getting nicer and nicer though).

As much as thgey are good value the GUIs have actually put me of buying them. I am impressed with the sounds as i have heard a lot of Dennis's audio demos.

I think I have been brought up in a world where visuals have a pseudo effect on my percieved dynamics of a product...not the output. Which is pretty daft but none the less the feel of a GUI does have a bearing on interaction.

Saying that any bundle discounts on the horizon or PM me I'll buy them all...cause I'm good like that :)

ValhallaFreqEcho seems a little pricey though  http://www.valhalladsp.com/valhallafreqecho

ValhallaÜberMod has been updated to version 1.0.1:

The changes:

- New control, WARP InputPan. This allows the user to reverse the input stereo image, sum to mono, or send to the left or right input channels only. The InputPan control can be used with WARP fbMix to create standard ping pong delays, as well as ping ponged multitap delays, ping-pong reverbs, tape delays that oscillate back and forth, and so on.
- New factory preset groups: DoubleTracking, PingPong, StereoEnhancers
- Fixed bug with 32-bit VST, where incorrect MODE names were displayed for some settings
- Fixed mono->stereo bypass bug in RTAS

I've sent out an email with update links to all of the ÜberMod customers, and posted new demo versions at

http://www.valhalladsp.com/valhallaubermod

Thanks to all of the beta testers for helping make this a smooth and stable release!

I love Ubermod and I've been using it for all my echoes as well as weirdness!

I haven't gotten an e-mail for the update yet though Sean.

Thank you so much. this is an AWESOME plug. some of the presets can be heard for hours, and one can not get enough of them (courtesy also goes to SiMOD :tu:)
