Sorry for going ballad and minimal / simple on you.

Note: Theres plenty of room for the melodies in your head.

i wake up to the sound of your name
and the echo of your laughs in my brain
and the air that feels like spring
the sense that a new life is beginning

simply wonderful
simply magicle

i open up the curtains and i peek
a bunch of birds is playing hide and seek
and the early morning sun spreads its light
it gives his promise everything will be alright

simply wonderful
simply magicle

Happy

I kind of failed at capturing 'happiness', but perhaps in a cubist sort of way, by representing the spaces between and dimensions within, I can be permitted to post?

~~~~~~~~~~~~Lysergics~~~~~~~~~~~~
no need to be so miserable
i'll sacrifice a cockerel
to make you happy
so happy
i'll have a word with the government
we'll take away all the torment
to make you happy
yeah happy
and when the blues come raining down
we'll dig a hole and put them in the ground
and you'll be happy
yeah, real happy
i'll have the banks release some funds
so you can grow up to be big and strong
and be happy
yeah, real happy
and i'll see that the heavens rain
until the world can grow enough grain
to be happy
so happy
and i'll make sure that the ones with bombs
only get to twiddle their thumbs
and be happy
so happy
Hi folks, first time for me here in the Music Cafe!
Working outside my comfort zone with this subject, particularly so as I've gone for a folky number which is very unlike my usual output. When I think 'happy' I invariably think of people jumping around, whooping and yee-hawing to some traditional style tune, everyone having a real good time
Simple arrangement with minimal effects, have tried to create a 'live' feel to it all, I present to you -
Drums : Superior Drummer --> Kjaerhus Classic Compressor
Bass : Halion Sonic SE --> Kjaerhus Classic Compressor, Cubase Amp Simulator
Guitar : MusicLab RealGuitar --> Kjaerhus Classic Compressor, DaTube
If you're not feeling happy by the 'clap-along' section at the end then I have truly failed in my quest!!
February happens to be carnival month, so for the theme this time I thought it was very appropriate to have a song inspired on the biggest party on Earth. Let me share with you:
Tempo De Carnaval
Image
This month I will be imposing on you once again my singing voice... and this time in Portuguese! 8) If Portuguese happens to be your mother tongue, I apologize in advance for any butchering I may have committed to your language. It's just that the song didn't sound quite right in any of the languages I do speak (English or Spanish). As I told oddbod a few months ago, samba only sounds right in Portuguese :wink: .
So, I hope you'll feel at least like tapping your big toe a little bit when you listen to the song.
Here are the lyrics (in Portuguese, and translated to English for your convenience :wink: ):
Tempo de carnaval
É tempo de carnaval
a gente bailando
música tocando
dançando nas ruas
até desfalecer
É tempo de carnaval
vês rostos pintados
trajes decorados
a festa continua
até o amanhecer
Tu tens todo o ano
para viver
mas em fevereiro
vais ser feliz
não vamos parar
é tempo de carnaval
Time for Carnival
It's time for carnival
all the people dancing
playing music
dancing in the streets
until fainting
It's time for carnival
you see painted faces
decorated outfits
the party continues
until dawn
You have all year
to live
but in February
you will be happy
we're not going to stop
It's time for carnival
Now, the small print:
Equipment used:
Noise makers:
Drums: Battery 3
Percussion: Dimension Pro
Bass: Kore Essential Bass Picked Bass
e-Piano: AAS Lounge Lizard
Rhythm Guitar: AAS Strum Acoustic
Choir Pads: Dimension Pro
Horns: WIVI
Lead vocal: GMoneh
Backing vocals: Me, myself and I
Noise shapers:
Guitar Rig
Camel Phat
FabFilter Pro-Q, Pro-C, Pro-L, Timeless 2
Some drum MIDI files from oddgrooves were used for the basic groove on the drum kit.The rest was performed by GMoneh.
Composed by GMoneh (with a piece of melody I'm pretty sure is borrowed, but not sure from where).
Recorded, mixed and mastered in Studio One.
