Hi,
The RMC Fanout Box is no longer available. I have a few designs that will record and play separate strings. (shameless plug).

Thanks bill,
Looks very cool. If I end up trying the Godin, I may very well get in touch. My littler magnets are on there. Yep-cut the bleed to a more manageable level. I also got an Echo Layla for lower latency. Now can run on 256 samples, which is very nice. There is still the time to wait for the percussive pluck to settle down of course. Any suggestions for which soundcard would be even faster? Now it's trying to get it to track perfect still-many small adjustments on band-pass and biquad filters. ---- Smoke the pipe of peas, human beans! http://soundcloud.com/nix808 http://rekkerd.org/nix-plugs/ Phonics Audio |

Hi nix808,
Thanks for the lighting quick response. I'm using a Roland VS-1880 for recording and playing separate strings, and occasionally use my M-Audio 1010LT PCI soundcard. There is no latency on the Roland VS ofcourse, although the latency on the 1010LT is quite good at 128 samples. Most of my breakout box customers are using firewire interfaces, and getting very low latency figures. Saying that, I am quite happy with 128 samples on the 1010LT. Big thanks to Meffy for putting the website links up! I didn't mean to spam the forum with a blatant plug, I just came across the Fanout Box topic on a google search, and so had to respond. A single, completely on-topic plug isn't spam. *thumbs up* |

Yeah, no worries, ty
you have the solution to the query. I will get one if I become dissatisfied with my 7-pin setup. I have 2 firewire cards- but 1024 is the best I can get on my Presonus FireStudio Project- firewire mixer is on mixer duties. Thanks for the heads up on M-Audio-- Will go have a look. It's not a CPU issue. My CPU is at about 8%--but still glitchy audio to run clean: 1024 on Presonus(this use more CPU) 256 on Echo I can make my programs run faster, a little, but it's not a CPU thing hmm ---- Smoke the pipe of peas, human beans! http://soundcloud.com/nix808 http://rekkerd.org/nix-plugs/ Phonics Audio |

64 samples I just had to turn off everything I'm not using-- in the mixer. I'm a duffer! Thank you SoundPalace now 15% cpu ---- Smoke the pipe of peas, human beans! http://soundcloud.com/nix808 http://rekkerd.org/nix-plugs/ Phonics Audio |

Hi Everyone,
I have bit of an update on the Fanout Box/Breakout Box and separate strings etc. Just finished a demo on Youtube with separate strings in binaural 3D. I think it's well worth a view for someone who is considering a breakout box. 3D BINAURAL GUITARS WITH SEPARATE STRINGS [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_vVU43Kz_w ] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_vVU43Kz_w) The big question is, does it sound like 'real-life' 3D? In short, the answer is yes and no. You certainly have a sense of width, depth, and with a 'moving' automated sound, there's definitely a perception of 3D. SEPARATE GUITAR STRINGS - ELEVEN IN TOTAL * Extreme re-amping, re-guitar, effects, and individual string software editing. * Guitar notes and chords are perfectly in key. Individual note quantizing is precise and velocities are optimised. Overall the all important performance 'feel' is kept in tact and greatly enhanced. * 3D software plugin. With a binaural sound stage you have width, depth and height, so mixes sound more immersive than just simple Left - Right panning. I hope you have enjoyed listening to this example of binaural recording with separate guitar strings...ahhh, the joy of hex!
