I think the bundle is sweet-sounding. The phaser is my go-to for the subtle, sweet treble sweeping stuff.
Urs, you have so many people telling you what to do...and I'll be no different. I have been getting totally addicted to the workflow of iZotope stuff, and not just Ozone. Alloy is their zero-latency "channel strip" plug-in. Imagine an Alloy-like Uhbik that people go to for ALL their effect needs in one convenient place, where levels are easily viewed and controlled, etc., and where tabs of some kind bring you to each module in the same vst window. Where you can re-order the modules and even put them in parallel, and with advanced freq. spect. graphics visible at the top. Turning a module on and off controls CPU hit. To get a sense of the best user interface I've ever seen, check out the Alloy demo (and the videos). If you like that, check out Ozone Advanced for the Meter Bridge. It'll blow your mind! (though Ozone isn't for tracking because it's not zero-latency). Thanks again for all you do for us. I just finished a piece with Zebra, ACE and Diva all vying for attention ---- Google sees you when you’re sleeping, it knows when you’re awake. This post made me think of Reason or Numerology, the back-panels with all the funky routing options ... might be cumbersome for just for racking up a few Uhbiks, but it just struck me it's a useful UI metaphor with exotic modulation sources and routing (up to a certain point - too many things also just gets too cumbersome but a sane number of Uhbiks really would be about right IMHO) Also just realized parallel with phase inversion can be pretty striking, someone was talking about Dimension D in another thread ... |

Hi Andrew!
Everybody likes to mix wet and dry, what about dry, phased, and reverbed all parallel? The phased would be clearer, but you'd still have your 'verb without the need for a separate buss. All mixed in separately! And what about a single window where you can easily not only control the on/off state and input and output levels of each effect in one window, but even see the levels of them all at once, with a peak freeze so you can play for a minute then look back at the meter to see where the peak is? At the top of the window, always visible, a 3D graphic with meter tap coming from any in or out, showing spectrum, 3D spectrogram, and a vectorscope for spatial analysis! ---- Google sees you when you’re sleeping, it knows when you’re awake. I think all of the monitoring/scoping stuff could be interesting in a Reason-esque rack environment - separate modules, could overlay some multiple inputs, quickly and sort of DIY patched up stuff. Stuff would be nice outside of that kind of environment anyway, I'm sure. One thing I'm figuring out with stacking effects lately is masking. People talk about EQ masking every once in a while, how you don't want to boost everything in the same range ([e] Well, it's a little more complicated than that). I'm finding it's also very true for stereo (or surround, I'll assume), LFO rates, amplitudes and envelopes, feedback / tail length ... I guess basically everything I'd imagine linear (by linear, I'm really thinking Ableton racks - I don't know Ozone, maybe it's more capable than Abelton's racks?) versus more modular have different implications on this. I really couldn't say exactly how that would play out. Speculations are so irresistibly easy when not responsible for how things work in the end though, so I'll just say - maybe both could work like auto-cabling in ACE or Numerology! I will have a 400+ preset Uhbik thing uploaded by the end of the week. I know we all love the Uhbiks and I hope to do justice to that. Some of the organization will be nice for stacking things, I think |

Yes, I see your point. And you can't have a wet/dry knob work for three or more effects! ---- Google sees you when you’re sleeping, it knows when you’re awake. Google knows when you’ve been bad or good, so be good for goodness’ sake! http://soundcloud.com/dan-ling |

Even if there was something like that, I would likely still mainly use Live's Racks cause I wouldn't be constrained to only Uhbiks... |

No, but it would simplify things a lot!
I have one of the best channel strips in any DAW with SONAR X1 Extended, but I don't use any of it because all I need is in Alloy, which is even better. As long as the quality is good, having the visible levels and graphics and easy control over everything just becomes irresistible. ---- Google sees you when you’re sleeping, it knows when you’re awake. I guess this thread is way more appropriate to continue my bitch fest rsp It's a bit more Propellerhead-centric than some of the theories that were speculated on in that thread, I guess. I don't use Reason. It sounds to me like 'Rack Extension' should work really well, plugs can be so isolated in VST/AU formats, and it's just a different theory of design here. I want to know more though. I'm sure details will be emerging. |

Yep, it was *one* of the big secrets. It's more amazing than meets the eye. There's a truck load of interesting stuff behind it.
The other big secret is related to Uhbik too. Definately June 1st to talk about it. |

It's pretty much a surprise all right! Even though I don't have Reason, I'm excited about this and looking forward to some more news. I always admired Reason and might get it one day! |

I read that you are going to sleep, so I guess you will answer another time. will it be amazing for us non-reason users is the bottom line? I abandoned reason at v3 and unless they went to a vsti or the 2nd coming took place I won't be returning. rsp |
