I'm remixing a project that was recorded years ago.
It was recorded using Sonar 2.2 XL, which came with Timeworks EQ and Compressor. I have all the files, and I can open the project in Sonar 8.5, but the Timeworks FX don't work. I downloaded the demo version of the new EQ, but it opens as a different plug - the old settings aren't there. I don't own Sonar 2 (but I own Sonar 8.5), so I don't have that serial number. If I buy the upgrade, can I use my Sonar 8.5 Serial number? Will the new EQ read my old settings if I buy it? Also, is the compressor available? Thanks Micah |

Hi,
I have also mailed you a reply on this. To upgrade, you need something to upgrade from. Sonar 8.5 did not include any Timeworks products, so that will not do it, I'm afraid. The old products were DirectX, the new ones VST / AU. Unfortunately there is no way to have the host load old projects with such a switch, sorry. The compressor currently is not available. We hope to redo it later, but it is honestly not on the top of our list of plug-ins to redo. Best, Michael Olsen Sonic Timeworks |

Nice to see that there is a 64-bit update available for the EQ. I would love to see a 'bundle' with both the EQ and Compressor updates. However, I'm debating the EQ update due to the price, and the fact that the original versions that came with Sonar 2.2 work and sound as good as ever with Sonar 4, 6, and 8.5. I just have to use the 32-bit versions of Sonar to use them. To me, it's worth the trade off.

Interesting. I just found your site and forum. FWIW.. Just wanted to toss in that I maintained and still use the heck out of your Timeworks comp from the old Sonar rev. It continues default spot as master two-bus comp/limiter in my templates. (yes in the company of most of the UAD comps, a dozen or so others here as well. Just saying.. |
