Have you ever tried Extremist? The original website is gone but you can get it from VST Planet:
http://www.vstplanet.com/Effects/Saturation3.htm

Download link at the bottom of the page. I think this is what you need, but a word. It is named properly. Turn everything down before you run noise through it. My favorite thing about it is you can run anything through it - synth, violins, voice, and will sound like a Rock God.
Happy shredding!!

Yep, I have extremist! I can't seem to find any good uses for it though...I've kept it installed for that "just in case" occasion though.

"Snap, Crackle and Pop vst"

Google cache is your friend.

It depends where you like your dirty bits.

really.

But yeah, Camel Crusher - it's free - it's awesome - it does 80% of what
you want. RP Distort - it is amazing - can not live without. I got it free-ish.
If you had to pay - ouch - well worth the pain. Very versatile - too.

Then again.

The king of which you seek is this:
http://www.camelaudio.com/camelphat.php

Until you have this in your arsenal, your sound design shall not be complete.

It is the fuzziness to end all fuzziness. Without even being fuzzy.

Seriously, it's the holy grail. No man on KVR will ever deny CamelPhat is
the last word.

Will they?

Sorry, you did ask.

Do you really want to know where I like my "dirty bits". Well I will put it this way, I am a man, and I am straight, so let your imagination do the rest of the work where I like my dirty bits.
:hihi:

I'll check them all out.

I like this:http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?pl ... ret&id=553

If you turn off the cabinet button, it becomes a bizarre transistor fuzz. rsrsrs

Well, i came to suggest the free Green Eugene, but suddently i remembered of one i downloaded not much ago.

Go here and take these 5 plugins, the Delta series.
In the bundle, the one called Delta Force is what you are looking for. Multiband, some different types of distortions and many more. I'm very impressed with it.
The other plugins are also nice too.

Have a good day :)

Well, fwiw OP,
Im pretty sure I have everything mentioned in this thread, but here I sit, itching for the one you mentioned in your post. :hihi: It never ends...

HARD LINE - [ industrial distortion ]
http://www.noisesoft.com/
$2.99

Good stuff has been mentioned. Ohmicide is pricey, but it is almost for sure top of the heap. Kombinant is a close second, and tends to be a little smoother edged.

There are five that I would "need" get any sound:

Ohmicide
Kombinant
Barb'd Wire

Christortion

S.E.N.D.

(The last three are freeware)

Did you try Anal-Tortion? Best named plugin in the world!!!

Way, way better than the original recordings. It's so fat even at low volumes. Producers don't know what they're doing.

+1 for AT

I dont know about Billy Idol, but Anal-Torsion is fukking brutal brutal. Tbh, Im in the habit of not touching it unless serious complete anhilition is needed. Kind of like Sonalksis' bitcrusher. A folder of tools that turn dreams into fukk.
But RBR's quote there will have me taking another look at the subtlety. :hihi:

I use Amplitube all the time. There's a free version now, and you can try different simulations and buy the ones you like but it comes with a few good ones to start. The key is disabling the cab or setting the mix to taste. I love the Ampeg bass heads for drums.

GeorgeZ wrote:Give TriDirt try... it can band slit, meaning of course that you can slightly overdrive the lows, fatten it up, add a bit of bite to the mids and then rip the high end to shreds. Seriously, if you don't try this (it's free), you'll surely be missing out.

All the other one's noted have their place as well, I can't go without Ccrusher, RP Distort etc, but for pure controlled mayhem, TriDirt is the SHIT!
Man i LOVE that plugin and miss it on mac. Best freebie multi band disto ever.

The first plugin that came to mind when reading the thread title was that blue Pultec clone, the one with the nice modeled distortion built in. I believe the name is Pultronic.
Has anybody ever really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

Thanks everyone for the continued suggestions, but come on now! Let the topic die!

There's also Guitar Rig, which, like I've stated many many times before, can be used for anything, is zero latency, has optional oversampling, and can build ridiculous fx chains that you can't touch with other single plugins.

Want some solid-state bass amp dirt on the lows, and some classic plexi crunch on the mids and highs, you can do that with one instance of Guitar Rig.
