Latest News: KV331 Audio updates SynthMaster to v2.6.3

Hi everyone,
Just purchased SynthMaster, and I wanted to check it out as an effects plug-in. (which is a cool feature). I'm using Orion 8.5 as the host, and when I set SM as an insert effect it blocks all sound. Is there another step to enable output when using SM as an effects unit? Best regards, Gino |

by all sound you mean it blocks other tracks as well?
In effect mode, osc1 is set to "audio-in" by default so it should pass audio. I need to debug with Orion maybe it is doing some things differently. ---- SynthMaster 2.6 VST/AU/RTAS "The Best Software Instrument of 2012" Award by MusicRadar CM Review: 10/10, Beat Review: 6/6 http://www.synthmaster.com/synthmaster.aspx |

Thanks for the prompt reply!
It does not mute all audio, just the channels it's on. As a separate issue, I'm finding that I can't save presets (64bit win7).If I write a preset to a folder with read/write access I crash the host. I've uninstalled and reinstalled making sure to run with admin privs and still seeing the same thing. Best regards, Gino |

Try saving to the folder where SM directs you when you press save. BTW, are you running your DAW as administrator? ---- SynthMaster 2.6 VST/AU/RTAS "The Best Software Instrument of 2012" Award by MusicRadar CM Review: 10/10, Beat Review: 6/6 http://www.synthmaster.com/synthmaster.aspx |

Yes, I've tried running as admin, and saving to my author folder. In both case, no file is written.
FWIW - I'm really impressed with this synth so far. You can make some incredibly gritty and edgy stuff. "LD - Tubeless Tube II (i)" is a perfect example. Once I can save, and use as an effect I'll be happy Best regards, Gino |

I've tried this in Zynewave Podium as well, and it was the same thing.
Has anyone used v2.5.4.135 as an effects plug-in successfully? |

I promise I'll get back to you on this one this weekend. I was very busy with ProTools porting. ---- SynthMaster 2.6 VST/AU/RTAS "The Best Software Instrument of 2012" Award by MusicRadar CM Review: 10/10, Beat Review: 6/6 http://www.synthmaster.com/synthmaster.aspx |

Please let me know if you need anything else to reproduce the issue. I've recorded a movie, and sent you a link in a PM.

Best regards, Gino Hi there, I finally managed to reproduce/fix the issue. I realized that I forgot to set defaults incorrectly for the FX version, so here are the correct values you can set manually (from Layer1:Osc1 area) Layer1:Osc1:Type should be set to "Audio In" AudioIn:Audio Trigger Note should be set to any note other than Off, like C4 AudioIn:Trigger Threshold: is set to 1/127 by default. You can make it zero or increase its value. This will turn on/off the note when audio in volume is over the threshold. ---- SynthMaster 2.6 VST/AU/RTAS "The Best Software Instrument of 2012" Award by MusicRadar CM Review: 10/10, Beat Review: 6/6 http://www.synthmaster.com/synthmaster.aspx |

Thanks, I've tried these settings, but I'm still not getting audio.
Has anyone else tried Synth Master with Orion? There's a free demo, in case that helps:http://www.synapse-audio.com/products.html Best regards, Gino |

Just tested this in Zynewave Podium and these settings worked!
At the moment, SythMaster and Orion don't get along very well. I'll try the synapse forum to see if they have any ideas. Best regards, Gino |

Best regards, Gino It might be because Orion is sending 2 inputs (stereo) to Synthmaster. Dont worry I am fixing that today. SynthMaster will accept stereo inputs! ---- SynthMaster 2.6 VST/AU/RTAS "The Best Software Instrument of 2012" Award by MusicRadar CM Review: 10/10, Beat Review: 6/6 http://www.synthmaster.com/synthmaster.aspx |
