I have a lot of Tone2 stuff, and being a perfectionist is hard. I'm sure they want to get this just right. I'd prefer to wait and get something fully tested, than just thrown out there with a hundred of here's a bugfix patch to download.
I've done demos and just trying to showcase audio is hard enough. You know these guys are probably making videos as well. If the devil is in the details, does that make Martha Stewart Satan? |

IMO that it 'isn't done yet' should have precluded the whole revealing-the-ui-frame-by-frame thing then, the UI is so polished but not even one sound demo? C'mon! I understand 'no demo version' yet, but an audio demo to give some idea of the synth's strengths is a pretty controlled thing, not something that is likely to make them look bad. NOT giving an audio demo does make IMO, just look how many people asked for one in this thread. I'd rather have an audio demo than a pretty picture. |

I see you shiver in antici...................................................... .pation....
Or shrewd marketing, seeing as how we're 44 pages into a synth we've only seen a picture of. Oh, I'll give you a taste. But, you'll only end up wanting more. |

The thing with this sort of shrewd marketing is that if they don't deliver because of some unforeseen difficulties it starts to look like vaporware, not saying that is the case but c'mon already! And if it weren't a contest you wouldn't see this many pages for a picture, trust me. |

I imagine the stakes must be high on this one...especially the timing of just being released after Diva, and quite what frankly what I consider as claims of lower cpu and same quality (as veiled as it was).... the stakes are high.
rsp if: Quote: Q: Will Tone2 Saurus have those fancy 0-delay filters?
A: Yes. We completely redisigned the filters section and were able to create 6 filter types which support true analog modeling with a 0-delay algorithm, nonlinearity, feedback, self-osc, high-precision pitch tracking, low CPU, oversampling, very fast envelopes and aliasfree distortion. It's a completely new approach to filter modeling which is not used by any other company or product so far. It's a different '0-delay modeling approach' than that one which has been discussed here on kvr a while ago. The main advantage is a much higher performance and a filter which is very precise with pitch tracking. and Quote: Q: Does it need much CPU? A: No. Unlike competing products we have taken a lot of effort to keep the CPU as low as possible without lowering the sound quality. You need at least an Intel Pentium 4 compatible CPU with 500Mhz and 40 MB of free RAM. was not meant in any way to elicit the conclusions I drew above, I apologise. rsp |

nope... 6 weeks, 44 pages, no audio Well everybody should consider that from the official announcement till the release date there are less than two months. Things are going on very fast! Just a little bit of patience guys EDIT: concerning the CPU usage it's really low. So low that, compared to DIVA, you can also play the synth without the risk to hit 100% with just one note. |

Quote: Q: Does it need much CPU? A: No. Unlike competing products we have taken a lot of effort... That seems to say competing products have not made much effort in that regard, which I don't think is the case at all. I imagine the one thing that keeps most people buying Diva and other similar heavy hitters would be CPU use, why would u-he or anyone else not take a lot of effort to reduce that? So Tone2, put your money where your mouth is, you gonna play the dozens you better be ready to compete! |

I read it more like, maybe the competitors don't know how to at least as good as tone2 can, OR it wasn't a priority.....we shall see.....provided it isn't another trance synth I will most likely be getting it. Can't imagine it not sounding good as I have two of their other synths, I just don't want it to sound like either of the two I already have.
