IK Multimedia is proud to announce the development of a very special overdrive amp model for the AmpliTube Custom Shop, based on the Dumble Overdrive Special. So special, in fact, that it is only available to a select few hand-picked AmpliTube users. To be approved to purchase the new DumbBell amp, please fill out the application form here. The price is a mere 45,000 Gear Credits.

The Custom Shop in AmpliTube 3 brings an entirely new shopping experience for software plug-ins that is like visiting a real guitar store, one that is open 24/7 with a complete offering of legendary brands for building your truly custom tone from the comfort of your studio.

Try and buy more à la carte stomp boxes, amplifiers, cabinets, microphones and rack effects from a vast collection of over 200 gear models including officially approved models of gear from world-class brands such as Fender, Ampeg, Orange, Soldano, Seymour Duncan and many more. Check out other gear to complete your dream collection of amp and effects models.

Each model can be tried out for free (for a period of 2 days every 2 months) before purchase, the same way you would try out an amp in a real guitar shop. Gear models are sold in the Custom Shop using Gear Credits and are priced between 5 and 45,000 credits each. Gear Credits are sold in packs that start as low as $19.99 / €14.99 (for 20 credits).

I can smell the aliasing from here, it's clear even from the GUI alone. Even worst, it's latency-inducing aliasing, the most dangerous kind.

We still haven't figured out who to fire to afford one. While we have spent at least a good bit over $100,000 if not in the multiple hundreds of thousands for the gear modeled, there is quite an investment in this one single sought after bit of gear. This is NOT an invitation to make suggestions, though!

Oh and on the more serious side, Dumble amps have such a difference from amp to amp and how they react to each player it probably isn't in the cards.

SRV had said "I bought these Dumble amps - I bought the first one because I was really amazed. After it broke down the first time, it's never sounded the same. I've bought several of them, and every one of them sounds different and is built different, and I keep wanting the same one that I bought in the first place."

I thought there was a less PC quote where he basically said a Dumble will sound great with some players and shit with others but I can't find it any more.

The DumbBell Overprice Special is a hit! We've already received several applications for the waiting list. Current wait time is about 6 months. We will be reviewing all applicants' forum posting history as part of the process. Anything perceived as negative towards IK or any IK subsidiaries will disqualify an applicant from the approval process, and they will have to wait until next month's Gear of the Week special, when it will be available in the Custom Shop for 5 gear credits.

And don't even ask when the amp build will be done. They might just take your deposit money and run because you have offended them by asking them or wanting a rushed job. HiHi

Apparently a true story with Alexander Dumble and a potential customer. Or maybe internet Dumble folklore Confused

Who the hell is the high and mighty Henry Kaiser. He makes me cringe with...laughter. He does not use "standard boring effects".

My friend showed me these clips one night and I could not stop laughing.
