I never have warmed to the GUI but I do like elements of it, like how there are nice step sequencers in line with the drum sequencer. But then I don't mind Reaper's midi either. I just never explored FL properly, haven't had a good look at it in years and years.
You can try Maschine or BPM if you don't like FL. They all load as VST's and provide capabilities that many DAW's lack on their own. I personally use Maschine. What is BPM? And I don't really have an opinion on FL, other than that error is not letting me try it. |

My Daw's stability is key. That's why I never open it, if my Daw crashed some day it would be the end of the world for me. |

@braj:
The newest one on the FL studio site, I think it's 10.0.9 now. When you download the demo and run it to install the DAW, during the installation you will also be prompted to specify the folder to install the FL plugin to. There are two versions of the plugin that will be installed, FL Studio VSTi.dll and FL Studio VSTI (Multi).dll. You can't just install the plugins as far as I know, the installer defaults to installing the program. I've used the FL Studio VSTi in Cubase, Sonar and MixCraft and it works well. ---- Musical Style: Psychotic Northwoods Basement Trash |

I installed the latest full version, ran it by itself fine, installed the plugins to my plugin directory fine, just it throws this error when launching from Reaper. It is not my error, I did it all right. |

I'd check the IL forum. I've had that same error before, but can't remember exactly what caused it... it was pretty simple to fix tho as I recall. Perhaps it was an update patch or some such nonsense. I don't see why it would be a Reaper issue since Reaper doesn't seem to have many. It is an "address" error message. Kinda makes me think something isn't being located properly. ---- Musical Style: Psychotic Northwoods Basement Trash |

MOTU BPM: http://www.jrrshop.com/catalog/motu-beat-production-machine- p-8292.html Personally, I'm actually more a fan of the concept of FL, for all the reasons MorteKai pointed out, than I am of FL itself. Of the plug-ins that provide that functionality for me, I rank them #1 Maschine, #2 BPM, #3 Ruction, and #4 FL. |

Can Live be opened as a VST like Maschine, BPM, Ruction, and FL can? Nope, Just rewired and when doing so can not act as a VST(i) host...As a Live man myself it would be really good if it could even keep the VST(i) hosting when rewired Eric, Live as a VST/VSTi would be even absolutely great but I am not holding my breath for either (Live as a VST/VSTi and acting as a VST/VSTi host...I'm dreaming there) Best to all as always Dean |
