Hi all,
Could you recommend any freq. analyzer which supports both Logarithmic and Linear scales for Amplitude and Freq-cy axis? Thanks. |

Hey thats a really nice one! Too bad no VSTi. Not trying to hijack this thread but I do also like to have a very precise VSTi analyzer for mac that could be set to do such extremely fast avg. times as the analyzer you provided. Also it do be really cool to have slow/transpose where the analyzer plays the audio back slowly but transposes the meter reading itself back to original value. Perhaps I am just dreaming... |

Plenty of possibilities around.
For example there is Nugen Audio with their Visualizer (still v1, I hope v2 hits the shelves soon, they promised a drastic update). Then there is the (old) newcomer Inspektor (formerly known as Inspector, but rewritten from scratch) by AxisPlugins (needs Syncrosoft eLicenser), dedicated I know Pinguin Audio Meter amongst many, many others in the professional metering realm I'm probably forgetting. I remember one for example for Mac (as well) built like modular blocks and the likes. But I lost track of it. You could also take a look at MeldaProduction, Voxengo and BlueCat Audio, but I fear they won't be as flexible as you like. Then again, BlueCat Audio offers multi-channel metering. Oszillos-Mega-Scope by Benjamin Schulz might also be worth a look. Another interesting concept offers HOFA with their IQ-Analyser. Though I couldn't test that one yet. |

I have tried the voxengo and it's good for most normal musical uses but not for what I want to do. IIRC it supports logarithmic scales though (may be wrong) so the op may like it. |

Thank you guys!
Yes, I'm looking for VST plug-in for PC (should mention it in my first post). I have tried SPAN, MAnalyzer, Visualizer, Blue Cat's FreqAnalyst Pro. They are very good analyzing tools. However, none of them has Linear scale. This is what I'd like to have but it is a standalone only: [ http://www.pas-products.com/analyzerprof.html ] (http://www.pas-products.com/analyzerprof.html) AUTO-ADMIN: Non-MP3 links have been disabled in this post automatically. Hm... forgot PAS compared to Pinguin - still not VST/AU/AAX.
Well, your only choices are indeed Visualizer (Nugen) and Inspektor (AxisPlugins), but else I think you're out of luck. Nugen is still working on v2, and AxisPlugins rather drives the old InspectorXL train. Pinguin Audio and apparently PAS are still the forerunner (though PAS is more affordable), but they were initially made for dedicated use (own rig). So your best guess is to wait for Visualizer v2 (like I do myself), or mess with available virtual audio cables (best guess). You can try the HOFA IQ-Analyser for the time being, but I don't think it won't get you far either. |

Hi Vitzo,
Thank you for trying our plug-in. Linear scales are indeed not built in, but it would not be a big deal to implement them as a custom skin. Please tell us if you are interested, we can build one for you. BTW do you mind explaining why you need linear scales? |

so, no one has found INSPECTOR FREEWARE in the wild anywhere?
I'm used to it's SMALL view size and features and use it cross platform PC and MAC. Those others take up 1/4 of the screen and are not resizable |
