MeldaProduction wrote: Hey folks, btw. which are your favourite granularizers? i have spent some time researching for existing plugins, but not much so far.
Argot Lunar, freeware, 64 bits, does lots of things. GRM Tool shuffling great when moving the grains around is required. KT Granulator is probably the "old classic" granulating tool, and it's very cool because with 40 grains it can have a very smooth pad like sound. Before i also used NDC Fragmental, it has nice modulation options, but it has a small GUI bug with modular hosts. Others i know of : GGrain, soundhack bubbler and soundhack spiralstretch. My favorites are- HourGlass (Freeware) http://rekkerd.org/xenakios-hourglass-granulationtexturizer- software/ Density (about $50, but you can get a good idea with the demo) http://www.densitygs.com/ |

Thanks folks, basically I'm aware of the plugins, but HourGlass and Density are standalone synthesizers, that's not really useful here. |

Feature request and beta testing(midi) pic!
Midi Going well! Testing with my new Korg NanoSeries II controller, I also have the Drum pad controller which had an XY pad, I'll have an updated pic, soon. Going well! -------------- Feature request: a stutter/glitch fx. I guess it would be an update to the rhythmizer? But, MXXX would be a monster with some thing like this: I'm thing the ability to play the FXs with the keys. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&list=PL 47BA6F06E8560880&v=mh1qg7MPP-E ----- http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/stutteredit/bt.asp |

Hmmm, but you can do all of it using MRhythmizer, or not?? |

I use and like Crusher X, UH-E Ubik G, and Audioease River Run as well as KT Granulator
Crusher X- Wild uncontrollable and a massive range of tones. Although you tend to hear nothing of the original sound so useless for transformation from original to transformed, but great for sound creation. Also after a while everything sounds very similar UH-E Ubik G - the opposite of Crusher X clean controllable very nice sounding. If any thing it could do with more options sonically AudioEase River Run - very similar to UH-E G but with a nice bufferstyle interface Personal request would be something that allows for clean granulation for transformation as well as some wilder stuff. I would love to have a granulator that allows the window shape to be morphed/transformed in realtime. There are a number of different granulation types out there pulsar glisson it would be nice to see these well implemented. As and aside although density is a synth its granulation sounds thin compared to the SuperCollider based ones such as Emission Control and Particularity, to my ears. I know that I have mentioned synths but it is the sound quality of there engines that I am referring to not their functionality Also to have some kind of burst generator to get irregular grain streams as well as standard random. ( I still love the sound of Pulsar Generator Synth) Also I know that Rythmatizer uses buffers, but some kind of buffer playback would also be nice in a granular plug I am thinking of Stutter Edit but as a granulizer rather than simple rhythmic stuttering. Perhaps a la River Run When I think of something with the sound quality of UH-E G as a multiband plugin with all of the modulation options of you have within your other plugins, that would already be amazing but please dont be limited Think your plugins are great! Thanks for all your work. |

First sorry for my ugly English and second sorry for the critic, I hope it is maybe a LITTLE bit helpful MeldaProduction wrote: 1) Better looking GUI - personal taste, I really hate when someone like you comes here and says that "the global state is that it doesn't look good". The GUI dont disturbs me and maybe I like it, but it is just a FACT, that as example Fabfilters plugins sell well. It is not the functionality, they are not really extensive in their functionality, but they are looking special. Quote: 2) Assignment - it's great that you criticize, but you have to say what is exactly what you don't like...
It works fine, but it would be more handy, if you can assign all the things in a more descriptive way. As example I just mention the easy and fast way of modulation assignment of Guitare Rig(drag&drop)or in the Fabfilter plugins or with vemberaudios surge, easy and just handy. Quote: 3) Checking other software - obviously... There's no need to comment on such a riddiculous point...
mmh... ok, no problem. It seems banal, but there too many plugins out there, and a little bit yours, that dont use established ways. And if it is so there is nothing more to do as doing it the same way in some sections as the really successful software do it. Quote: 4) Finger - this is something completely different, and there are obviously things you still don't understand about MXXX, probably because you didn't read the supplied document...
The overal handling is a little bit confusing. As example I dont get it until now to assign a simple MIDI note to a created switch which is triggering a parameter. I tried it several times and asked here in the Forum. In Guitare Rig I just right click on the parameter and click learn and play a MIDI note, finished. Or another example, I must assign a seperate MIDI track that I csan trigger the modulation with MIDI, in Guitare Rig, it works with the MIDI of the VSTi. And the finger is not something completly different, because it is also a Multieffect Plugin, which is MIDI playable. ----------------- Your effects are nice, but in MXXX are not really special effects like a resonator, graindelay, stutter effect or a grain replay of buffered audio with different parameters like forward/backward, pitch, pan, speed, grainsize, grainclouds, with random grain replacement a.s.o. |
