I own ChronoX 3 and Sophistry licenses (and several other Linplug plugin licenses). I have enjoyed the other-worldly drones that I can get using the granular generator operating on a sample and using the modulating filter type. It is not clear to me from the screenshot how the interface for the "free" filter type for ChronoX 3 translates to the new GUI design and how the loop sampler interface will be set up. If the loop sampler generator is chosen instead of "Oscillator" as shown in the GUI design, does a menu pop up allowing definition of the multiple samples with key and velocity ranges, loop start and end points, etc?
For the GUI design, I would suggest sizing it and adjusting the widget resolution so that it can be read and operated easily on high definition displays. Some of those numbers and letters will be very small and difficult to read at 1920x1080 if the GUI is not designed properly and/or designed for a low resolution laptop. My personal preference for color scheme is to avoid saturated colors - in agreement with what was stated above. I also prefer to have a GUI that has good contrast in color and intensity but not an intense contrast that causes eye fatigue. I actually like the shades of gray used in the design concept image. It would be nice if the editor for the loop sampler would be larger than in the original GUI to make it easier to see and edit. I would pay a max of about 50% of the original license fee for an upgraded license, assuming that the Sophistry sound set will also load into ChronoX 4. ---- ------------------------------------------ Gribs |

Thanks everyone,
and yes, Gribs, we'll have two versions of the GUI, where one should work nice on a HD monitor, |

If this is just a GUI update with no additional features I wouldn't be prepared to pay anything for it |

http://www.linplug.com/cronox_4.html The screenshot is grey, because the color scheme is not yet decided. And the upgrade will not be free, however, it will be somewhat in line with the amount of new presets (so, yes, there will be new ones). Even leaving aside the grey the gui looks rather bland compared to the lovely elegant design of v3. I think exactly the opposite. Love the new GUI just as is...no accounting for tastes is why it'd be hard as hell being a GUI designer |

We've been on Musikmesse and the responce to CronoX 4 GUI were mixed, however there was a clear tendency that the new one is overall appreciated. We could also fix a color scheme
http://www.linplug.com/cronox_4.html and currently are one step before starting testing and sound design. If any young, fresh sound designer is reading this, you may apply for doing around 100 presets |

Will there be a global unison with the pan spread option? |

^^^ I've just checked for the first time Cronox by my self and the Spread control makes unison but without pan spread. is it possible to add such feature to v4? Overall, I really liked the sound. |

Its not planned for first release of version 4, but certainly makes sense to think about for maybe 4.1 or something.
Thanks & Sorry for the delay in responding |

I am not going to buy any more VST synths. I don't need them and don't want them to clog up my hard disk.
I am going to make an exception for Cronox. If this turns out to be as good as it looks I am going to buy this no questions asked. It will be the last VSTI I buy. Honest. I really mean it this time. There is nothing that has come along in the last year or two that has excited me so much. I have everything I need. This would be the icing on the cake. I can much relate to this (though I shouldn't as a "businessman"), I'm pretty sure that one can do a lot, and especially in terms of music making (not collecting or following a buying impulse) there is no need to have another and another and another. We'er currently delayed with the whole process because of the Mac version not yet being available and having mainly bety testers on Mac. So I guess rather End of June or July it should be available. |

more filter types... please!
Cronox is one the most versatile soft synth i ever played. I synthesized tremendous amounts of sophisticated sounds with the demo of this little beast. It could do even more if it would get those damn new filters And for the spread - will it have the option of freerun also for loaded samples in the time sampler? It would be useful for loaded one-cycle waveforms, because that retriggered spread (every voice starts from the sample start) is a little bit weak ;P Shradder could be also more expanded. There is a lot of potential in this (its my fav!!!) and for the modulation - will it ever be possible to have more than 10 modulation slots? making eg. big evolving pads on 4 osc's is a great idea but trying to modulate them only on 10 slots forces to program all this in a specific and schematic way because there is just no more room to dynamize them. My money are prepared. just waiting for the release |

Thank your for the suggestions, its too late for this release which is in test now, but I add them to the potential features list for future updates. |
