Hi folks
I'm looking for a sampler (or a sample-based synth) that can do the followings: - multitimbrality - per-sample (per-zone) editing, filtering, ADSR - drag-n-drop samples directly from host - deep modulation routings So far I've been using CamelAudio's Alchemy and Ableton's Sampler. These are great tools but unfortunately neither can do all the things I mentioned above. I guess Kontakt 5, Halion 4 and MachFive 3 can do everything I listed above but the problem is I hate Kontakt's GUI and structure (from the presentation videos i've seen) and I find Halion 4 and MachFive 3 quite expensive. Can you recommend a better solution? Thank you. |

What is that you're missing in Sampler? I've just got into building Instrument/Drum Racks using multiple instances of Sampler/Simpler. It means you can add modulation, fx chains, etc to individual samples, or sets of samples. |

Check out Wusikstation. It's on sale right now, and I just learned that it has the ability to create/map SFZ files from the GUI. As far as I know, it is the only plugin that can do this, and for this reason alone it has my interest. --Sean ---- C/R, dongles & other intrusive copy protection equals less-control & more-hassle for consumers. Thanks bpblog. I forgot about Shortcircuit. It seems pretty powerful indeed. To bad it's discontinued and to bad the GUI is so ugly. It looks like an excel spreadsheet, IMO. Last edited by KTlin on Mon Apr 09, 2012 9:47 am; edited 1 time in total |

I'm aware of this possibility but I find it pretty cumbersome. It can be extremely useful sometimes though. |

Shortcircuit2 has a great GUI and does all you want except drag from host because it works from a database, but the payoff is a great built-in browser with search and preview function, even directly on the relevant audio output (if you have set to replace sample) which is good to audition sounds 'in situ'.

Thanks V'ger. The GUI on v2 is way better indeed. I don't understand why they didn't show any screenshot of it on their website. And how about loading sfz files and libraries made for Kontakt? How good is Shortcircuit2 at that? themachinelt wrote: DirectWave by Imige-Line
Thanks themachinelt. I tried Directwave once, and although I loved its interface (nice looking, clean and simple) I don't find it quite potent or versatile for my needs. |

No support for either import or conversion of Kontakt libraries sadly.. |
