I can normally configure audio/midi routing with other multi-timbral VSTis just fine, however, Wusikstation 7 is a little different than the rest of them.
Usually I send audio out pairs (1/2, 3/4 etc) to another track and have the midi routed back to the VSTi. But here, from what I can tell, the midi is all on the same channel (outs 1/2), while the other outputs are like effect outputs. I change the "multitimbral" option to the correct midi channel for each preset-layer, and I can route that to a seperate track fine. However, it's the audio outs that's making life a little miserable for me. What I want to accomplish in Reaper is having Wusikstation 7 send audio to a seperate track, and have that seperate track send the midi data back to Wusikstation. The reason for this is that I'd like to apply different effects to the seperate tracks that are sending the midi data to this great program. Hopefully, I explained myself well enough as it's 1:32 AM right now. lol P.S. loving Wusikstation so far, I just hope I can get around this! |

Hello, in the multi-out version, each layer will go to a separated output, and the internal effect sends (1 and 2) will also go to another set of separated outputs. At least that's how it should be working. |

And each layer has its own midi-channel number, by default its set to OMNI. |

Now that it's a midday, I can explain myself a little better. lol
With other VSTi's, I send an audio pair to a seperate track (say for example, 3/4 or 5/6) That seperate track contains the MIDI data, which is routed back to Wusik station. (For example, MIDI channel 2 or 3) So, for example: Say I have a GM flute and a GM slap bass in like....let's say Hypersonic 2. The flute is on MIDI channel 2, and bass on channel 3. Thus, the output pairs for MIDI Ch. 2 would be 3/4 and the pair 5/6 for the bass. Now, over to Wusik Station 7. Say, again, I have a GM flute and slap bass. Okay now, as usual the flute is on channel 2 and the bass on channel 3. However, here's the part where I'm stuck: The audio pair 1/2 is the only output that, well, outputs dry audio. I want to be able to apply audio effects to the tracks that are receiving the audio outputs from WS and sending the MIDI data back to the VSTi. Am I doing something incredibly wrong? I'm just wondering if there's a way to accomplish what I'm trying to do. |

You are using WS V7 multi-out, right? |

Here's the thing, I can send each preset-layer (with a set MIDI channel) to it's own track. But, the problem is applying my own effects to those individual tracks as needed. |

Now, if you are using a single preset and all its layers, it works, but if you are using the multi-preset system (the new tab on the left) it won't work.
So, here's the deal, start Wusik Station, load the Init preset. Now, on layer O1 load a sound, set Midi Channel to 1. On layer O2 load another sound, set midi channel to 2. Does it work now? |

Say if layer O1 is already selected, is it supposed to also select layer O2? (Meaning both O1 AND O2 are selected)
No matter what I do, it keeps loading a preset in layer O1. |

Ah hah! I got it! So, I can only have four sounds loaded at a time for what I'm trying to accomplish?
I'm not against opening multiple instances, but it'd be a nice feature to be able to load at least eight, if that's the case. Thanks for your help, William. Love the program despite my difficulty, and much better (way better) customer service out of you than I got out of AT&T earlier today! lol |

Hehehe, indeed, here's how it works, you have 2 type of data:
1) SoundSets, those load on each layer 2) Presets, those load SoundSets on each layer. So yes, what you want can't be done in the way you are doing, but it could be done in a different way, by creating your own preset from scratch. But fear not, there's another way. If you select BYPASS Effects from the Configuration Page, each area where you have the FX Sends 1 and 2 will send audio to those outputs. So you could load 2 effects on those outputs and just select the amount of sound you want routing there. Not sure if that helps or not... |
