Wusikstation versions a mess? not found in fl studio

ok here it is what i expected ....

i installed the new engine and date folder of wusik 7 and i installed the 32 bit and 64 bit, other plugins as well like this otherwise old projects with use of 32 bit plugins cannot find the plugins with 64 bit. i thought wusik would be so clever too but the entry in fl studio is Wusikstation-32 and Wusikstation-64, the version 5 had only Wusikstation. i guess cause of the "-32" maybe it's not found?
other plugins work without a prob. so do i have to install also the old wusikstation 5? 3 wusikstations?

sorry i think you messed this up, also im confused and disappointed that many old libraries arent included due to licensing etc. issues, i dont mark each soundset i used in my projects......

i hope to get a fast customer care as im really pissed atm. i love this product normally but this makes using it no fun and destroys some musicprojects.

edit: THANK GOD i got my backup of my whole wusikstation with packs i hope on an external drive. so if this isnt backuped then the old soundpacks are lost?
and yes the old 32 bit version has no "-32" and is found with everything without probs. sorry it sucks!

Every host responds different to the naming of plugins.

You may simply rename WSv7 Wusikstation-32.dll to Wusikstation.dll and FL-studio *should* be able to run your old WSv5 projects.

thanks it seems to work, but as for the sounds it seems to be still a mess, im gonna investigate today hopefully, where can i change the Wusikdata folder?
so the new engine finds my old DATA?

edit: ok i clicked on presets and could set the new presetfolder but now i need to set the sounddata folder.
i cannot find the option to set the soundfiles, each time i hit a preset it cannot find the sounds...
i checked the folder with the link and set under preferences the old folder as wusikstation dara but he cannot find it. arghs, this cannot be so hard, i have to overlook something atm.

edit 2: i just deleted the link, thought it would be so clever and ask me for a new destination now there is written "ERROR: no valid "Wusikstation DATA" shortcut found in PLUGIN FOLDER !!

lol am i stupid or is this really not clever made? in kontakt it asks me for the new folder...

Wusikstation uses that link you have deleted, but you can simply right-drag your Wusikstation DATA folder to the desktop to create a shortcut and then drag it from the desktop to the Wusikstation.dll folder. Ensure that the shortcut is named Wusikstation DATA

Sorry, currently you can't select the Wusikstation Data folder from within the Wusikstation plugin.

Try to re-install Wusik_Station-v7.0.1.0-install.exe and now enter the correct Wusikstation Data folder. Then again manually rename Wusikstation-32.dll to Wusikstation.dll

ok will do, sorry no offense but this is really unprofessional of the company to not be able to change something simple like that.... a shame. and im looking forward for the reply about the soundsets.

Ahh, I think I know what is going wrong. WSv7 works comfortably alongside WSv6 in one DATA-folder, but may cause problems alongside WSv5 in one DATA-folder.

By design the SoundSets folder cannot be a separate folder, but must be a sub-folder of the Wusikstation DATA folder.
So if you want to use your WSv5 SoundSets you need to either:
  • copy (or create a hard-link) your old SoundSets folder into the WSv7 SoundSets folder
  • -- OR --
  • re-install WSv7 pointing to your WSv5's Wuskstation DATA folder.
If you go for the last option, then rename the Skins\Default folder to e.g. Skins\Default v5.

i went with the last option better. it works but:

1. can i just add the new sounds to this folder now? my wusikstation 5 folder? so i have a BIG old folder and add the new wusik7 library as seperate library in this folder?

2. i didnt quite understand the skins option, how do i keep my old skins and add the new skins?

1)Yes, you can add as many presets/soundsets as you want in the WSv5's data folder, but I would advise to name/rename the WSv5 preset folders different to the WSv7 folders, because WSv6/7 presets are NOT compatible with the WSv5 plugin.

2)apart from the "Default" skin the newer skins are named: as_CreamBlue6, Blue6, Limeflavour6, so it is easy to recognize which skin is which ... even if all skins are in the same skins folder (WSv6 skins and WSv7 skins are compatible)

1. i will use only the new wusikstation 7 for all new projects so i think this wont be a prob, W7 will load all older presets/sounds from W5 though? askin again so i dont do anything wrong.

2. ok will try and look where the new skins are and just add them.

thanks for the help, please consider better options for an update.
