I'm looking for a speech synthesis program that runs on Win7/64. It shouldn't sound natural as i want to feed a vocoder with some words - good ol Kraftwerk style.
Even better when the program has a rather neutral or even robotic pronounciation. Most progs i've found so far sound english. Tried my own voice, but i cannot hide my origin. It always sounds like "bavarian" english. Thanks for your ideas, Gerald |

Thanks, sayit comes rather close to what i'm looking for. It just doesn't sound very understandable through TAL Vocoder which works fine with other input sources. |

Get WinUAE (Amiga Emulator) and set it up, run Workbench, and run the 'Say' program - most awesome retro speech synth ever |

You could give ElectraX a try. There is a 'quick import vocoder button'. Here you can select a wav file and create a vocoder patch from it with only two mouseclicks.
http://www.tone2.com/html/electrax_synthesizer__vst_au.html Warmverb does also come with a easy to use vocoder: http://www.tone2.com/html/warmverb_vst_au_effect_synthes.htm l |

Yepp, Cantor would do the trick. But 300€ just for me having a little fun with a vocoder is a bit too much. I don't want to replace a singer. Thanks anyway. Jason Washburn wrote: http://www.neospeech.com/
http://www2.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php http://www.naturalreaders.com/index.htm The AT&T has exactly that 'mechanical' reading style i'm looking for. You are just not allowed to use the samples. audington wrote: Get WinUAE (Amiga Emulator) and set it up, run Workbench, and run the 'Say' program - most awesome retro speech synth ever
Oh yes! Must call my pal. He still owns several Amigas. Btw, is the speech synth in Fruity Loops still there? Must download the demo. I remember it wasn't too bad at all. Some nice suggestions. Thank you all. |

I'm not 100% certain but I'd imagine feeding the AT&T sounds through a vocoder would make it distinct enough to no longer be a violation of their terms. ---- soundcloud.com/badpioneer |
