ValhallaRoom has been updated to version 1.1.0.

The latest changes:

New reverb mode: LV-426.

- In keeping with the Nostromo/Narcissus/Sulaco tradition, this is a deep dark space verb. It is kind of a cross between Nostromo and Narcissus, but with a far higher earlier echo density than either of those reverb. LV-426 has a slower attack than the other reverb modes, and a lush, diffuse random modulation that produces beautiful long decays.
- The LATE LowMult/Xover and LATE HighMult/Xover filters have been moved to a location where they act as tone controls.
- Values of LowMult less than 1.0 allow you to dial in reverbs with less low frequency energy.
- The LowXover control can be used to adjust the crossover freq of the low cut/boost.

- 64-bit VST for OSX. ValhallaRoom is now fully 32 and 64-bit compatible for both Windows and OSX.
- Optimized CPU for Windows RTAS and VST32
- Fixed mono->stereo bypass bug in RTAS
- Window resizing bug fixed in Digital Performer

Update links have been sent to all ValhallaRoom customers, and new demo versions are available for testing at the ValhallaRoom page.

I suddenly don't recall if it was there in 1.09, but...
the presets don't show up for VRoom 1.10 in Live 8.3, using the Mac (32bit obviously since Ableton ain't quite there yet) VST.

unless of course I'm a dummy and they were never there...

Funny. Ah yes, Abdul's distant cousin and business partner Hannibal Chew Costello.

Okay, I'll stop now but not until I exercise one of my most favorite, yet juvenile BR quotes. It's all about the the accent and delivery, but works in print, for me anyway. Oh, and it has even less to do with all this other than maybe bestowing deserved respect.

Sushi Master: "He say you brade runner."

Congratulations on 1.1!

The presets are there for me. Ableton Live in OSX is my primary DAW for developing and testing plugins, as it runs both VST and AU, and I'm slightly more comfortable in Ableton than Reaper. I just checked, and I am running Live 8.3.

My guess is that this has something to do with the permissions settings on your machine, and how they relate to the installer. Permissions related issues are weird in OSX, as they tend to be difficult to replicate on other computers, and generally result in smaller side effects that are also incredibly annoying.

A quick fix would be to download the current presets folder from

http://www.valhalladsp.com/room/ValhallaRoomPresetsV1_1_0.zi p

Unzip the file, and move the folder inside (ValhallaRoom)

Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Presets/Valhalla DSP, LLC/

This should result in all of the "VALHALLA PRESETS" being visible in the Presets popup menu when you click on the name of the active preset in the GUI.

If you have any additional issues, feel free to PM or email me.

A bit of context for the above exchange:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSQdEkcm6zs

I've quoted the "I just do eyes" line on countless occasions while talking with my wife. It feels like a good description of what I do. I don't create the whole body - that would be the DAW, or the computer, or whatever. I just focus on my one little piece of the whole (reverbs, delays, pitch shifters, what have you), and keep working on it until it is as good as I can make it.

Am I correct in assuming that the 64 bit version for Windows had already been maximized for CPU efficiency in the prior version? I did notice in the past that running the 64 bit version seemed to use less CPU than the 32 bit version.

You are correct sir.

The 64-bit VST of ValhallaRoom for Windows has always used SSE2 optimization and my own SSE2 intrinsics. In the past, memory alignment issues kept me from using those same optimizations on the 32-bit Windows plugins (the 64-bit VisualC++ compiler automatically aligns things to 16-byte boundaries, while the 32-bit compiler doesn't). I figured out a solution for these memory alignment issues with ValhallaÜberMod, and was able to fold these changes into ValhallaRoom for version 1.1.0. The result is a pretty big performance boost for the 32-bit plugins, relative to previous versions.

The OSX versions of ValhallaRoom have always had these optimizations in place, as the GCC compiler I use in Xcode automatically aligns memory allocation to 16-byte boundaries.
