Setting exact mod values

A few quick things I've noticed...

When setting mod values, for example assigning a stepped LFO to pitch, it's very difficult to set an exact value of 12.0 Or at least I can not figure out how to do that. The mouse wheel value creeps, so you end up with 12.09, you can hold the shift key and drag for finer increments. Still end up with 12.09 when you get close to 12.

If you happen to change your default sawtooth waveform in the global settings, you can not set it back to the the original waveform, because they are not shown in the menu. The last single cycle waveform is "Fr4 - Yamaha CS80 2". In OSC1 if you use the mouse wheel to go past that waveform you can see 4 additional waveforms. Since these are not in the menu, you can not select them in the global settings.

On filters if you move the mouse wheel while over Route:, it skips the "In Filter" value. You can only get to None, Pre Filter and Post Filter.

Best regards,

Gino

Is is really impossible to set an LFO to an exact value of 12.0?

While we're at it: is there a way to set the coarse tuning to exact semitones?

Good point, you'll hit the same problem I'm describing.

Edit: After playing with it more, I think it might be working correctly. It's just confusing because I'm used to working in semitones. Seeing values like 12.09 make me think its off, but if I listen it sounds like an exact octave.

I assigned voice > constant to layer1 > osc1 > coarse tune and was able to use the shift key to get semitones.

Gino

To divide a step/glide LFO into N steps set its quantize to N, by default quantize it zero. This way you can modulate coarse tune of oscillators for instance with the LFO.

I don't want to modulate the coarse tuning, I just want to change the coarse pitch by a number of semitones. The coarse pitch knob is continuous, though. Is there no way to make it snap to proper semitones? If not, consider this a feature request Smile

So why 12.09, 13.18 etc. for mod values?

Why not even numbers like 12, 13, 14, etc. like the other VSTs I use?

Best regards,

Gino

because it is continuous. but if you use the mod wheel increments will be +/-1

Still see the odd values when I use the mod wheel. I can record a movie and send you a link if you can not reproduce the behavior.

Overall I'm unable to set an LFO to a mod of 12.0 on Windows 7 using Orion as the host.

Best regards,

Gino
