But as mentioned in this thread already many times, Alchemy's spectral engine is mono, cumbersome and terrible to work with. Besides that Alchemy can do much more than Iris ever wanted to do. |

I did, up there, not so far... About Alchemy/Iris, Simon has been specific and technical, I just say that Alchemy is complex to learn, due to its very many (beautiful) features, Iris is something you can create with very freely after 15 minutes. Simplicity, does not mean "a lack of something", not to me anyway |

True, they are different in their respective ways. But imagine if Camel Audio beefed up their spectral engine in Alchemy... could make for interesting competition... |

If Alchemy's spectral engine could do what Iris does so smoothly, then it'd be no contest, wouldn't it? Having finally bought Iris and used it a lot the last coupla days, I'm falling more and more in love with it. Matteo said it well: simplicity is not a lack of something (not every time, at least). |

Awesome software, the only thing I sort see wrong with it is the octave limit when using the radius RT,the sample would produce the same key when you get to the C9 key and pass it. |

You can increase the settings in the menu to +/- 5 octaves. That should be enough. edit: or were you saying the thing with iron in it? Last edited by ariston on Fri Apr 27, 2012 11:14 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Very nice presets, Simon. I have just realized that you are the son of legendary Karlheinz Stockhausen, which might explain a little bit why you are so talented... Keep doing the (very) good job! |

Thank you - yes, 1 instance of Iris, nothing else...I made the original sample with some of my Alchemy samples (a multisampled dumbbell plate) and one of the Chromaphone patches from the Bank I did for AAS - processed with crusherX and a saturnized Convolution Reverb using a strange electric guitar snippet as Impulse Response. |

What impulse response plugin did you use? A while ago i used Traktor to sample loops from various tracks and then used the IR you can run on your GPU(can't remember name) to mix them. One loop with the IR of another .. was pretty fun but i would like more controls.
Just checked my account ... yes, there's room for Iris ---- Mulab-MUX-Diversion-TX16Wx-SKNOTE-Charlatan-Valhalla-GordonSmith-YamahaTHR10-Trackspacer-TheDrop/Glue-Drumaxx-VOS-DC8C [i5 2500K @ 4,3GHz] [8Gb DDR3] [200Gb+ SSD][M-Audio Delta 24/96 PCI] |

Just checked my account ... yes, there's room for Iris I always use Logic's Space Designer for loading my custom Impulses (drag+drop), it has everything I need for tweaking IRs, the EQ inside is not so much happening but with strange IRs one usually needs a good parametric EQ anyway to get rid of unwanted resonances and enhance the ones one wants to hear. Guitar Rig's Convolution is also good but I hardly use it. |
