Latest News: MuTools updates MuLab and MUX VST to 5.1.5

Was just wondering if Multi-Track midi recording (simultaneous) was on the list of upgrades for future versions. I would think that if you pay $100 for more than 1 midi input but can only record one at a time, why not save $40 and get Reaper? It would certainly help in using the product in live settings. |

What exactly do you want to do?
Note that you can record up to 16 MIDI channels simultaneously, going to 16 different tracks if that's your track setup. |

I'm trying to record 4 instruments from Nodal, each one is set to a different channel of the Nodal output. Logic and Reaper split the Nodal output into separate midi channels, but Mulab only seems to recognize the output from Nodal as 1 channel. |

What kind of Vsti is Nodal?..monophonic ( one midi channel ) or multi timbral (multi-out vsti= more than one midi channel output) |

Here's a link to the webpage: http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~cema/nodal/
Nodal can output 16 different "instruments" on separate midi channels simultaneously. It has it's own built in synthesizer (weak) but most people use it to output to the DAW of their choice. It was developed as a Generative Music creator, but can also be used as a sequencer. Here's an example of Nodal being used with Reaper: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FI-fvJZd5Ic&list=UUIBEBg-pblE U3wTB2mSvhpw&index=1&feature=plcp |

So it's a separate app right? And you want to connect it to MuLab via a loopback driver and process each channel separately right? In that case goto SESSION menu -> Edit MIDI Input Channel Targets and set things up as desired. |

Works a treat! Thank you! So glad I asked. I love Mulab, and that was the only things I used other DAWs for. It's going to be great use the Mlab sound libraries with my Nodal projects. Now I can honestly say Mulab was the best $100 bucks I ever spent on sound software. |

Yes, Mulab has a lot to offer and using as a soundmodule is one of them, you can also even use a Kontak 5 Vsti (multitimbral) in Mulab to use with Nodal and a loopbackdriver.
See video tutorial about this.( From @Andreas ) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/62409608/Kontakt%20in%20M4.wmv Suddenly, i realize by this thread that i can also use Mulab own internal sounds! (i was so focussed on the VSti use) |
